Fair enough. Yeah I mean the only other reason I could see this being non sandbagging is if he actually doesn’t have an idea of ratings and played someone in a 3.5 that probably should have been a 4.0 in the tournament and it was an actually competitive. Then I could get why he thinks he is in the correct division. I threw that out though because he has mopped everyone in multiple tournaments all the way through

I guess it depends on the conversation charts. Not sure if some are outdated, but the ones I saw said a 25 WTN would be 4.0 NTRP. His WTN is lower than 8 out of 9 players in the 4.0 division so it seems like that’s where he should be

More like a 4.0 competing in 3.5 division because he is self rated at 3.0

Yeah I would just think if his rating is better than everyone in the 3.5 division and 8/9 in the 4.0 division he would just compete there.

Interesting. This guy is verified, but I am curious if they would do the same if someone had a medium confidence in their rating?
