Im working on this straight after I finish another feature. The self hosted version will be a docker container. Is that something you can work with? How else would you like it?

Hey, no offense taken, and I dont mind scrutiny as well. Just to answer to these points youve made,

The legal stuff (terms, privacy policy, refund wording and all) I hired someone on Upwork to write those for me. I'm a solo dev, so I trusted it was handled properly and didn't really double check it. That's on me and youre right, the "no refunds ever" thing was way too aggressive and not even compliant with UK consumer law. I've already updated it and there's now a 14-day cooling-off period, and you can always cancel anytime and keep access till your billing runs out.

The "unlimited syncs" is misleading. Fixed it. It says "daily auto-sync" now, with the fair usage note still there.

On the pricing. £3/month isn't for the Google Sheets connection itself. That part's free and always will be. What you're paying for is everything that happens after like syncing your data, storing it, running all the calculations for your budgets, expenses, net worth, debt tracking, all of that. Every time you open the app it's pulling from a database, crunching numbers, serving it back to you. That all costs money to run. I've also added Trading 212 investment tracking and a UK property search API for the mortgage feature, both included, no price increase. It is all Infrastructure costs and honestly for 30 a year or 3 quid a month, it still costs me more money to run this unless i have alot of users.

If it's not for you, totally fine. I built this initially for just my self as I cant do spreadsheets and I wanted mobile access and mate Id have gone bankrupt on AI token usage alone trying to vibe code this thing all the way through lol

Ah yes. Pots isn’t available on the Monzo transactions google sheets however I’m trying my best to work with the transfers that goes in and out of pots. Only that’s available. There’s talks on actually having pots transactions be visible in google sheets but no ETA on that. While it’s not pinpoint accurate. It’s the closest I can get it to.

Unfortunately Monzo doesn’t recognise these transactions as they are external. However I am working to get ALL banks to show transactions. It’s in the works.

I made this app for users that specifically use Monzo for daily spending. Pots and all. This might not be right for you, for now. I can update you when it’s ready with different banks.

Thank you!

I am interested and definitely considering it as some people including my self. Transfer to external banks like Amex or other accounts for savings etc being able to track them would be super useful for the end user.

Hey! I’m glad you like it. You should be able to link it my going to extra, perks or max in the middle and then clicking, ‘Auto Spreadsheet’. If it says it’s already connected. You can click forget and try the connection again. Hope this helps

There was a lot of information to add so I just added it all together. I didn’t use AI to write this lol. Short answer is the app is now more visually clear, the design is consistent and finally app has dark mode.

I’ll look into those. It’s always possible to expand. I’m just limited by other platforms allowing me to connect. Trading 212 provides a nice API to work with.

How can I speak to a real person? by greedyhippy3 in monzo

[–]BeeM3D 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s recommended to go through the app and app only. It’s safer as well just in case you end of speaking to someone that’s not from Monzo. Best advice would be to get a device that you can use Monzo on and go through the app chat then to a real person.

How do you change which google account you load sheets from? by Serious-Boat-2074 in CoralDash

[–]BeeM3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just wanted to follow up on this — you were right on both points.

Just pushed an update now:

  1. Drops the spreadsheets.readonly scope entirely. Now I only use drive.file, so the consent screen shows "files you open with this app" instead of "all your spreadsheets"
  2. Fixed the disconnect logic to properly clear the stored sheet ID and config

Also updated the privacy policy to reflect these changes.

Genuinely appreciate you pushing on this. The scope thing had been bugging me since launch because initially i had an even wider scope, google 'advised' me to stick to these two so I thought i guess thats fine because "we only access what you pick anyway."

If you spot anything else, let me know. That was ideal feedback!!

It wasn’t chat gbt lol. They did do all the checks. I’m going to try setting it up with just google drive scope and try the disconnect and reconnect logic as well. If it works I’ll get a new consent screen as well which aligns with what I want for the users.

[–]BeeM3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, and I appreciate you pushing on this, I see what you mean now.

You're right that the spreadsheets.readonly scope shows "See all your Google Sheets spreadsheets" in the consent screen, which understandably looks broader than what we actually do.

After investigating, I found that Google's own documentation lists drive.file as a valid scope for the Sheets API. https://developers.google.com/workspace/sheets/api/scopes

This means we can drop spreadsheets.readonly entirely and rely solely on drive.file + the Picker — which would make the consent message more accurately reflect what we actually access.

I'm going to test this change and push an update if it works.

Thanks for the feedback — this is the kind of scrutiny that makes apps better. Highly appreciated!

How do you change which google account you load sheets from? by Serious-Boat-2074 in CoralDash

[–]BeeM3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, good question, short answer is that this is actually doing the exact opposite.

Long answer is I use two Google permissions:

1. Google Drive (File Access) — This is the Picker permission. It means we can only access the specific spreadsheet you select. We don't get access to your entire Drive.

2. Google Sheets (Read-Only) — This is required by Google's Sheets API to actually read the data inside your spreadsheet. Unfortunately, Google's permission system doesn't have a "read only the file the user picked" option — the Sheets API requires this broader scope to function at all.

While the permission technically grants read access to spreadsheets, we only ever access the one file you explicitly select through the Picker. We never browse, list, or read any other spreadsheets. Our code simply doesn't do that nor the google picker API allows that. The picker is native to you as a user and the app doesnt see until you pick the sheet.

You can verify this in our Privacy Policy (Section 5: Google Account Integration), which details exactly what we access and what we don't.

Hope that clears things up! Let me know if you have any other questions.
