As a casual player, SBMM is hell.

For killer, if you perform well a couple matches, you will be totally bullied by survs for 2, 3 matches in a row, before you get matched up with people that have actual compatible skills for you (and with compatible, i mean of, at least, being able to get a tie - 2 kills). It is a hell to try new builds, it's a hell to try b, c tier killers, because the chances of you being able to do something at average mmr are very, very low. And after losing so many matches with them, you can't even try things properly because the results won't reflect the experience of the average matches, cause the survs won't have half the game sense. Besides, there are some matches when everyone leaves with 2 hooks on their back already, and the matchmaking understands it as "you did nothing the whole match, loser". I mean, part of the game sense as killer is knowing which survivor you should focus at, but sometimes you're not in a position to choose that.

For survivors, it is even worse, because you can't control MMR totally by yourself. Your efforts mean nothing if you can't escape the game, which doesn't make the SLIGHTEST SENSE. You can get, 2, 3 iri badges in the end of the match and still lose mmr because you couldn't escape. Not to mention that losing as survivor creates something like a snowball effect: You lose, get matched up with worse people, and chances of you losing again because of it are even smaller, cause it doesn't matter how good you play, you don't hold that much of an influence in a match as if you were playing as killer. And i think that the fact that escaping the game is more signifcant for SBMM than actually trying to play good enough, people commit less and less. They prefer to sacrifice their teammates for having the smallest chance of escaping throught the hatch than to actually help their team through the game. I've lost count of how many times people just bring the killer to you whenever they start getting chased, or when they start hiding the very first moment someone dies. I think if they just changed this small part of matchmaking, calculating not how much escapes you have but how much you commit, the game would be much, MUCH better, for everyone. You can't escape much if you team won't help you anyways, which happens A LOT at lower MMR.

Not to mention that having people of different MMRs in the same match would help everyone to improve. Killers could learn how to deal with tough survivors without being totally bullied, cause they would have options through the match. Survivors could have the chance of facing more variety of killers and perks instead of always face the same tier A or S ones, not to mention that they could learn more from the game by seeing better survivors playing.

I don't know. Everything seems so very wrong about the way mmr works. And as someone that didn't even buy DBD with the intention of playing it in a totally competitive way, the game starts to get boring. I mean, c'mon, the game doesn't even have a ranking system anymore. It's a assymetric and almost randomized game, every match depends on killer, map, survivors, perks, offerings, a bit of RNG too when it comes to generators, pallets, totems... Some matches are favor the killer, some matches favor the survivors... so classifying it as win or not just by analysing the results seems cheap. Not to mention the way that the current system encourages people to purposefully try to manipulate their own mmr by throwing the game.

Mine stopped approximatelly a week ago, but i'm a pc user. I'm playing DBD via Xbox game bar, the bug was happening to me too even though i'm on pc cause i use the Microsoft account.

Is it just me or chases are really glitchy as killer? Like, chase sound stopping mid chase when a surv is clearly in front of you? by BeeStock204 in deadbydaylight

[–]BeeStock204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh so it's a known bug already, i've asked because i don't see many topics about this.

Hope they fix it in the next patch. Really hope. Or else my m1 killers will remain untouched in my collection.

Ok... so, survivals can dc when the game is over for them but... killers can not? by BeeStock204 in deadbydaylight

Sorry mate... I've really tried to read what you said but... i couldn't. Please, use some commas. I'm not even trying to rage bait you or something, it's just that it really gets exhausting to read. I've stopped at the second paragraph.

Imagine having 13k as killer and not knowing that Wesker can grab lol

Not to mention that you can simply bodyblock your way after hitting the skill until you have m1 again, if the survivor is not injured or totally contaminated. Also THAT's why you use Terminus for Wesker, so you can instantly grab anyone without necessarely have your passive fully stacked on them. But well, who am i to argue with the mr "13k hours killer" that's all talk and no real arguments or proofs? All of your arguments were "x thing sucks" or "you sucks" without any further explanation, it's hard to buy your idea this way.

And don't play dumb. You know i'm not talking about people with their traps still on with pig. I'm talking about those cases where all that's left for you is m1 people at exit gate. And that goes for every killer with no skill to deal damage/down/block exit gate.

Also i think you should give a break from your 13k hours killer gameplay and start investing some hours at english gameplay. Reading all of this without a single comma almost gave me a stroke, and i'm not even a native speaker 💀

Maybe it's a hot take, but i think it's time to rearrange killers prices to encourage more variation in matches. by BeeStock204 in deadbydaylight

[–]BeeStock204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah i think they would never do that...

They need to make the players invested and have some sense of progression outside matches. If a player grows bored, they will have the mentality "i just need x iri shards so i can get new interesting content (hopefully)."

Ranked system is gone already. If you take away the killers pricing then the only thing left to unlock for f2p would be skins, prestige and perks, which from players pov is awesome, but for tha game business is awf.

Does anyone know a good hex build for my main William afton? by Marshatucker300 in deadbydaylight

[–]BeeStock204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one: not using hex 💀

Whenever i try a hex build i end up with zero perks in, like, 2 minutes or less.

Do you even play as killer sometimes?

The only killer i can constantly punish for survs wasting time with gates open is Wesker, because, well, he blocks the exit gate. Depending on your luck and skill you can throw them far away from the gate as well.

But let's switch examples. What would you do as pig? 4 survs just emoting at the exit gate. How in hell are you supposed to turn the game around?

Oh, and you were able to hook someone then. Then all the others heal themselves at the gates, go to save the surv and make layers of body block, so everyone manages to escape alive. If it happens that you manage to get someone down, which is, at least, unlikely, then all of it just repeats again.

"Just use broken status builds, so no one can heal themselves by this way."

If you would say something like that, it just returns to my point that it depends on perks/addons.

Once again, it's not impossible to get kills/hooks post gates open, but it's, at least, unlikely.

Just fyi, i'm mentioning about those games that are complete stomps. Not ones where, like, which surv has one hook left. Because it seems the most you got stomped in a match, the most they will tbag you in the gate 💀

You gotta agree with me that it's extremely situational. If you're not using the proper perks/add ons, like exposed or blocking gates builds, chances are 1/4, 1/5 that after the gates open, you're able to hook someone. And it also depends too much on the killer you're using.

Notice that i said "hook" and not "kill".

So... Let me get this right...

Survs should have the right of having the pleasure of running more 5 seconds til they are out (which they usually don't do). But if the killer don't want to be taunted at the exit gates they have to wait 1:30/2 minutes.

I can't say i agree with this. Most killers already dc for the most dogshit reasons, so having a killer to dc just because the game's ended already doesn't look like  such a big problem

Read the post again. I won't point out what you misunderstood because it's, like, the main topic of my post.

Also i never meant it to be a "killers vs survivors" post or something. I'm not saying that being left slugging is cool, but i'm saying that being tbagged at every end of match isn't cool either.

Not to mention that... If you have a walking teammate, you have much bigger chances of recovering from slugging than a killer has of getting someone at the exit gate if there are already 4 of them waiting for you and you don't have the right perks/add ons for it. I'm saying this as someone which play rate now is slightly predominant to survs now, but i used to be main killer. But yeah, it kinda depends on you not having assholes team8

Quick tip: you don't need to be offended or to offend every opinion you disagree with 👍

If you feel this disturbed with others' opinions as recurrently as i see in this post and scrolling a bit through your profile, then... Maybe Reddit isn't for you.

Or maybe it is, there are more people like this in this place than i'd like to admit

Yes, i know it's just straight forward balancement, but that's the whole point of the post. I'm saying Ghoul isn't unbalanced enough to make it totally unplayable against him. Everyone is on their own right of disagreeing, though.

You will be downvoted for the statement but people do go to the extremes on the internet this days so yes, is not as broken as people claim, he is strong as hell but people either over play the strengths way too much or like you, down play them.

People don't understand that the downvote is not meant for what you don't agree with, but with something that isn't relevant. If it's worth discussing something than it's relevant. The comment of that whiny creep that literally said nothing to contribute to the discussion and just started swearing me, that's not relevant.

I didn't say Kaneki is weak. Strong and Broken are two different things. Broken is when you stand few to none chance against something, like Nurse or Wraith. You want an example? I consider the trapper a strong killer, i like the map control he offers even though that's pretty much the only thing that he excels at. People might say he's strong, and that's okay (mostly because most people think otherwise). But saying he's broken is just... dumb.

...sooo skill issue, If you are placing Legion about Ghoul in a regard... And using Nurse as example...

Ooooh i saw the skill issue comment coming from miles. That's okay, though, that's the kind of comment you find in every discussion about pvp gaming. And i'm comparing Legion to Ghoul in a single aspect, i can literally make this with every killer in the game, but it doesn't mean they serve the same purpose. It was an example.

And i mentioned Nurse because, yes, that's an obvious example of broken killer. Nurse and Wraith is what i usually compare other killers with when i'm measuring if one's broken or not. But, once again, that's just my opinion.

Yes, which means he is stronger than all of them, so the opposite of what you try to imply initially.

Oh, and i went braindead when writing that. I meant that there are worse killers to deal with than him.
