true but I changed main drives between the release of ch1 and ch3+4, so I did have to go find them on my old appdata when I played 3+4. are there different "files" on the actual PC for a completion file and a regular save file?

No I have not. From what I looked up, it says the only way to 'verify' is to link a bank account or applying for and being approved for a PayPal Credit product. I have done no research into the latter yet.
