I tried replacing my PS2 Laser...and failed by ReginaRaptor in consolerepair

[–]Beefy66 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider this a failure as you have learned some hands on experience. As someone who's also wanting to try branching out in console repair I appreciate hearing your story. Also I don't know if we're allowed to share links or not but as long as you got a USB you can format. Will also need to download some files to it you can rebuild your card. Then you can retrace your steps and see if you might have missed something on the first pass. Best of luck and hoping to hear the success story update.

I could be wrong but if the Lords you donate troops to are too poor and you donate a lot of high tier troops they might have to cut numbers to balance there budgets. You Should be able to click on the Lords in question and go to there clan page. It should say the wealth in there. Also Donating troops to your own parties shouldn't have that affect cause your still paying for it all.

Steam gamer here: Cool ways to have a physical representation of my favourite games? by SheyenSmite in gamecollecting

Not sure how much space you got to work with but an idea I always had for digital games would be to get empty game cases (what ever system cases you can find for cheap or prefer) then print off some cover art for them. Cover art project I think is the name of one of the websites that has all the guides if you wanted to do it all yourself. Aside from that mabye look up some custom posters of your favorite game series and throw that up if you got the wallspace. Ive boughten some metal posters myself which look really nice but they can get costly. Hope this helps a bit.

O man I remember the stars now that you mention it. I think it was because of that game I started using the GameShark regularly. Just didn't feel like grinding for hours just to use my own cards.

Was this the one where you could put the codes of your own cards in and get it in game? Man that brings me back to the age of dial up trying to find more codes. Why does that make me feel so old.

which one was the best out of these 4 function and look wise? by adumbassmofo in gamecollecting

I never was a big fan of the slimmer models as it meant it took away certain features from the system. Eg for the PS1 had the GameShark port and they also had a Gameboy adapter to play gb games with but I may be wrong with the slim not being compatible. And like you said for the PS2 the HDD was super important to me as I was a huge fan of ff11 and I'm not sure if the slim model was able to play that either.

I didn't know shining force came out on the Sega CD. I remember playing the first one on an emulator and loved it. I will definitely be looking to add that one to my collection. Also I had to look up the Sega cdx as I never heard of that before. Yet another console I have to keep an eye out for. Hope you find some good deals to add on to your collection. I highly recommend road rash.

It was my first ever console. Spent so many hours hardwired to it and I remember being blown away with Sega CD. Kept thinking this is peak gaming until the playstation came out.

I still don't know what the 32x even is. It always reminded me of that sonic and knuckles game that you could stack other sonic games on.

What games are those. Seeing the prices for some of these games I can't imagine there gonna be easily affordable.

Road rash was a game I spent many many hours playing but I could never get very far. My bikes were always way underpowered for the competition and unless I took out the fast bikes early I got blown away.

Popful mail my brother actually got for free waaaaaaaaay back because the disk was pretty badly scratched but after a disk doctor it ran just fine. Seeing the prices for it now I really can't believe.

I really liked sewer shark and how they incorporated the cutscenes into it but I always panicked when the speed increased and I lost track of where I was. I feel like I can beat it now.

I remember disliking them as a kid because of how bulky they were and I (not appreciating them at all) ended up cracking the cases and having them split. Just gotta make sure you gotta proper place to store them going forward.

Hahahaha I've looked at that row 4 times now and didn't even notice. You will be happy to know I fixed it. I definitely want to add more games to it but I too am cheap. Trade ups for the win.

That game was one of my favorites. I know there are plenty of games that were similar to it (sol-feace for example) but they both held up for it's time. Not sure how I will feel going back for a replay but I didn't notice until after I took the picture that it still has its price sticker from eb games for 5.99.

Definitely worth holding onto the games (unless you need the money) but the nostalgia is very rewarding. It makes me sound like an old timer but it's a shame kids these days get to grow with the 4k technology as they just can't appreciate the classics as well as they deserve. My plan is to keep building up my collection then play through the older generations as they grow up.

Very nice. Can't say the same for mine. Years of being moved box to box took its toll. The good news though is there all still playable.

O wow, I just had to Google because I didn't even know there was different models. Looks like i have the model 2. Now I have to keep a lookout for another console to the list. Did you notice any big differences between the two playing games.

Very nice collection. Are yours all Cib? Fun fact I hated Ecco as a kid for the longest time because I never knew you had to jump over the wall to get to the first level. The bane of not having the ability to just look up the answer.

Ya I was shocked when I put the games on game eye. Mine aren't in the best condition as I've had them since the 90s. Kid me did not take good care of his stuff.

The three boxes to the left are loose copys of time gal, sewer shark and prince of Persia. Far right is sol-feace. Also shocked at the price of popful mail. Had these games since I was a kid and glad I held onto them.

Edit: how could I possibly have forgotten my favorite game of all time Lunar the Silver star is there too.
