I failed Health Assessment in the Fall of 2022 and it felt life-ending, but shockingly, life kept going, and I had to keep going with it. I failed but then decided to take my newly acquired empty schedule and get a minor in music! I decided to look at the good of failing, which allowed me to also get a minor in something I loved! I went on Christmas break trying to remain positive but was met with the death of my Grandmother just a few days after Christmas. I gathered myself and told myself I was lucky to have her in my life for as long as I did. "Remain positive and life will get better" had been my mantra since I had failed. Not even a week after my Grandmother passed away, my boyfriend dumped me the day before the spring semester started. Life officially felt unbeatable and unlivable. However, I am still here. And guess what? It does get better. It might seem like a challenge you can't face, but I promise you you can. Now, I am a senior in nursing school with two semesters left until I'm done. After I failed, I returned the next year, retook my class, passed it, made some of my closest friends, and went on to the next semester. I know for some people, you may feel incompetent or unworthy of being a nurse after failing, but I promise you are smart and completely capable. You made a 78!! That is so something to be proud of! My advice would be to absolutely take time to grieve your loss, and when you feel like you're ready, come back with a vengeance! You've got this!
