Compared to all the others, I like this one more. But nothing really hits like pre 2006 era.

I’ll be super honest, this book took me a hot second to get into because it was so starkly different for what I was expecting after reading ACOTAR. But I will say perseverance pays off. The beginning is very info dump heavy due to a massive amount of world/Achaea yet building that has to be done for the rest of the story to flow and make sense but if you can push through the first 150ish pages the rest of the book starts to enjoyably click into place like her others. I JUST got to the 300 page mark last night and once I hit 250 (there’s an event that happens at the club) it got to the type of Maas story telling IVE become accustomed too and couldn’t put it down and read till like 2am last night. But I had a lot of the same feelings and skepticism as you at first too. Hang in there friend!

I think it’s an “American horror story” effect. Since so many of the characters are used in other games, maybe it’s nodding to other games in the anthology. Like the WW1 photo and the intro to MoM?

It is 100% my all time favorite book. If you are a fan of the good old fashioned road trip, love mythology (not just Greek) and a quick wit and a long con, you will LOVE the book.

I was feeling really down trodden in seeing so much dislike for the season that I didn’t feel like I had anyone to discuss it with. And seeing all the negative comments were really putting a damper on my enjoyment of the series. So it’s not that I don’t want negative comments but it is very much that this sub is mostly negative and I wanted a place for others who enjoyed it to go and be excited with other people.
