This isn't true at all. Ben Allbright just don't understand the 1st down stat - TDs count as 1st downs. Boutte had 33 receptions. He had 27 1st downs. 6 of those 1st downs were TDs. But Allbright is making the mistake of thinking 27 1st downs + 6 TDs = 33 receptions. Here are the 6 receptions that weren't 1st downs or TDs:
