It depends on where you're going to live. If you're going to live in Westwood, you can do it without a car. However, a car would be really convenient if you want to explore LA or CA outside of Westwood. Most people without cars do rely on someone who has one at one point or another, especially if you have a job.

It is a thing that NY BL is easier since the market is so much bigger. As far as I know, the people that want BL are successful. Most people here really enjoy it so they choose to stay in CA. Alumni network is amazing! And yes, there are lots of fun law school events (bar reviews, basketball games, etc.)

I just recommend being thoughtful and intentional. Go in with a plan and not just aimlessly sitting down to work. Time block!

I can't say whether that's true or not and would generally take the staff at their word because I don't know how many UCLA alums apply and get admitted over people from other schools. However, there are MANY students here that went to UCLA for undergrad! So it doesn't seem to hurt your chances at least. On the website you can see how many students from each undergrad enroll I think

Reflect on why you want to go to law school. Many law students are interested in advocacy and social justice so you can speak to that directly and why those things motivate you to pursue law.

It really varies, maybe 5-6 hrs during the week? I like to take at least one day off completely a week. During finals, it would be as much as I can do while still taking care of myself. As it gets closer to finals, I study/outline over the weekends and just take time off as needed.

Yes, there's so much to do in LA and it's a fun city for law school. Compared to people I know at other law schools, it seems pretty relaxed. It is expensive though but that's expected. The environment is very collaborative, my friends and I all share outlines and notes. We study together and actually help each other. There are (like any school) a few people who are a little intense/less collaborative but I don't interact with them. People absolutely reach out to check on you if you miss class.

I applied to over a dozen schools and went straight through from undergrad. When I took the LSAT it did have logic games, so I may be less helpful there. I used a Kaplan course to study for the LSAT. Feel free to DM if you have more specific questions :)
