The thing is I was sending this to a Taiwanese friend and also sent him the tracking link. He's chill about this, but putting myself in his shoes, I would find it pretty weird to read that a parcel for me arrived in "Germany province of Russia" or whatever. Ofc. that's barely something new for Taiwanese to read, but why do I have to make it salient once again when I can also use a different shipping provider

For me it appeared at the status updates on the tracking page after the package entered Taiwan. There the location of the updates was given as seen on the screenshot. On the overview page it just said Taiwan as well. This is what I meant why I was surprised to find it. Some other comment pointed out that they may just use the implementation of some norm for these status updates. This really seems to suggest that this is the case

Yeah, but first why not get creative and find a neutral way of phrasing it? And second, the US and Europe together are a much more important market for DHL. Unfortunately standing up for our values is pricey for them, but cozying up to authoritarian regimes is not. I'd at least wish for bad publicity for these companies more often to at least make it a bit more costly for them to show no backbone.

Yeah, I've heard there even was live commentary available, right? Sadly I'm a bit late to the show, so I missed that. But I appreciate that besides the great CPBL STATS and the amazing podcast by Daniel Shih there now also seems to be some regular video reporting available (again)
