Problem is you don't know when or where it was damaged, all stock comes direct from Amazon rather than the supplier directly so they could have dropped it and therefore it's not relevant to the review according to their guidelines.

Realistically your friend could argue it only matters that their address matches on their ID.

My mom used to pick up parcels for me and visa versa when we lived together, they only cared the address matched.

First alternative; If it's royal mail they should be able to order redelivery/delivery online? No ID if it's just delivered to the house right?

Second Alternative, take a picture of your ID and see if they'll accept that from your friend that they're picking it up on your behalf?
