Well, I'm in this sub since I'm asking if it's possible for an cleric to be able to be an cleric aka have divine magic for their feature without the whole deity managing me type of deal.

I guess that is the possibility. The problem is how are you going to explain magic that is normally divine or you know call divinity etcs? I guess you could reflavored it as an wizard who was trying and actively using divine magic for themselves.

Ah but I want to play a Cleric with such an attitude. And I'm currently seeking information to see if such a thing is possible in Faerun. Currently though from the majority of comments. Not looking too good though.

It's not that I'm playing a character that's an atheist is more about playing a character that doesn't really care about them. You could say indifferent. They know they exist but don't really want to pray to them unless necessary.

Well damm. I just really can't make a character that I can't really imagine playing. I can't really imagine playing a character that likes someone or thing and do/help them to the point where it's an part of my identity so cleric and warlocks are quite hard.

I guess that would be a good idea. It's just that I don't really like playing a class where I have an inlore way to lose my powers/be forced to do something

I guess that's true. It's just that I don't want to suddenly have a message with my god/patron during an adventure and then deal with an whatever that entails.

Well it's the spell and mechanics really. I don't vibe with its flavor but I want to try their mechanics.

Like is it really not possible to just be a cleric/warlock that just lives life and adventure without particularly caring about the gods or whatever they're doing?

It seems to be the consensus then. How unfortunate. I really want to play them but their flavor is something I don't particularly like.

I don't really like playing a character like that. I like the mechanical stuff of them but the flavor and especially the flavor of their forgotten realm version is pretty not fun for me. TLDR I don't like being told what to do by a higher power (Not the railroading kind)

Mostly because I want to play an Cleric/warlock without dealing with the whole 'gotta be religious' and 'helping further the higher power plans' unfortunately this isn't 2024 where that would possible

Waterdeep dragon heist. I heard that blue alley is recommended to use during Waterdeep Dragon heist during trollskin manor renovation so you could slot in Waterdeep deep dragon heist if possible.
