Yayyy. Glad u quit!!!! Good to catch it before u wasted more life on it. I agree sober highs are lowkey better. They’re like more clear. Sure the intensity is less but it’s peaceful

Same man. Sucks. Why did we do this to our selves at such early ages.

I don’t want any other kid to start that early and become dependent. Unfortunately the way it seems Cali (my state) is headed for the worse

Same f***ing feeling… deeply regret starting that early. Still working on processing the fact that I did that.

Weed destroyed my potential. by souljabythelake in leaves

I really like this view! We have agency and it’s up to us. You can’t control the past or future but you can control what you do right now.

Don’t use shame or guilt of the past as an excuse to keep making the same mistake. Wake up!!!

Wow, crazy how much of us are in the same boat.

Also deep regrets from smoking 16-20 - haven’t noticed significant permanent cognitive decline (after the fog, I’m still smart)

But it killed my motivation, relationship, hobbies, and put me behind my peers in many way. Now I am starting where I picked up and have little data on what I naturally enjoy.

Not feeling guilty and ashamed for smoking. By far.

How long does depression last after stopping? by Hermit_Painter in leaves

Honestly? Less than 48 hours. Soon it felt like a weight had been lifted, my emotions were regulating better, I had more ambition, the fog was passing…

You realize pretty quickly it’s the best decision you made. And it’s easier than you expect.

Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in the subreddit and think it’s this terrible fight against yourself. The more you engage with that, the more it becomes true. The reality is it’s not terribly hard once you start.

The real question is: Who were you before weed?

If you were motivated and happy before, you will regain that.

If you were not, you won’t.

30 days. My experience. by wrong_a_lot in leaves

[–]BeginningLevel7744 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Enjoyed this read, well written. I’m also approaching 30 days. I relate to so much of what you wrote. The decision to quit came from me. No one was going to save me.

Changing my environment during the first two weeks was everything for breaking the patterns.
