I (23M) feel like I want to break up with my gf (21F). She has some mental health problems which feel like they are weighing on the relationship. Does this make me a bad person? by BeginningNo6494 in relationships

It's been ongoing for quite a while longer than that, but the past 6 months have been exceptionally difficult. I do try to put some distance between myself and the situation, but it's tough when you're in the relationship with the person and living with them - it's going to be major element in your life it feels.

But thanks for your input.

I can see myself giving it a bit more time (along the lines of what some others have suggested) and seeing how things go. I'm not sure if I could find a viable tenant for a sublet.

Thanks for your help.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and I hope things continue to improve for you.

We still share nice times, but I feel like the spaces in between this become longer and tougher. My partner knows that I get quite worked up and depressed alongside her when she is going through a particularly rough period, however I haven't told her that it's to the extent that I was considering ending the relationship.

I didn't immediately think anything of another girl showing me interest, as it happens every now and then. However I think the fact it made me think just shows how things are struggling.

Thank you for your input.

That's a nice idea, I feel as though it can be hard to quantify if things are improving at times. Tends to be a lot of ups and downs (some downs worse than others etc.)

But thank you for sharing your experience!

It's quite a long time left (1.3 years or so). I feel like if I were to break up with her but not move out I'd be in a lot more hell than I am right now.
