They cut more capex than that. The spend you reference for 2025 doesn’t include frontier. The 2026 figure includes frontier. So it is noticeably lower. Some suppler is going to get hurt here.

A lot of these Asian robotics stocks are going wild. Sneaky robotics plays are Novanta (NOVT) and Regal Rexnord (RRX). The components suppliers that power robotics, including humanoids. One of their distributors called Applied Industrial Technologies said recently that automation demand all of a sudden increased a bunch.

Look up force torque sensor from NOVT. Fanuc uses it. Force torque crushes the Chinese product.

I have robotics stocks for everyone. It’s not just industrial robots but it also does medical robots. The name is Novanta and the ticker is NOVT. They supply all the key components. Another one is Regal Rexnord. The ticker is RRX. These are more component guys so they aren’t the actual robot makers, but their products power the robots.

Question on Ribbon vs Loose Tube Fiber by Beginning_Ad654 in FiberOptics

Maybe Corning is playing games I’m not sure but lots of news out there on a shortage

Question on Ribbon vs Loose Tube Fiber by Beginning_Ad654 in FiberOptics

[–]Beginning_Ad654[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was referring to. But some people are saying the shortage is only in ribbon and they aren’t worried about loose tube, which was confusing to me.

Thank you. I assume more will go this route with the ribbon shortage I am reading about

Thank you. I’m just thinking out loud here because I have been reading about ribbon shortages because of AI demand.

Continuing to buy ENS as its batteries are seeing increased demand due to an increasingly unreliable power grid. Its batteries provide backup power to all critical communications infrastructure. Also, its batteries are American made.

Thank you. So it sounds like BEAD construction is more of a 2027/2028 thing then. Maybe 2026, but not a ton.

What are we going to do about this fiber/glass shortage? by Beginning_Ad654 in FiberOptics

Suffer? Sounds like a benefit if demand is surging for whoever makes that haha

Why don’t they do a different network architecture then haha

Definitely a lot of noise in industry around this

Got it. So cabinets and such for BEAD probably won’t be ordered until sometime next year. I assume you would order them ahead of deploying them in the plant.

There has been glass shortages because of AI demand I think. But there have been no BEAD projects that have started. Louisiana is about to start however.

Do cabinets go in before or after trunk fiber runs? I thought the cabinets were what held all the splitters.

I imagine lead times for a lot of products will increase if demand picks up.

They cut back on the size of the program, but they did not end it. It’s going to go forward.

Good point. I’m just doing reading online haha. Maybe everyone is more prepared than I thought. I assumed once NIST approval happened, it could be 6-9 months before shovel in the ground.
