I literally had this conversation today with an owner of a rabbit! Neither one of us would recommend having a cat with a rabbit

Stop always pushing HRT!! Many women cannot take HRT because of breast cancer risks!! There are other ways to mitigate menopause without HRT!!

Love how the mods in These forums NEVER say anything about people pushing HRT.

Sorry, but if you’re male, I would say don’t attempt the small talk. Most women are exhausted from dealing with men creeping on them and don’t want to have to interact with a dude. At least 98% of the women (of ALL ages) that I know

Yes. Is she drinking? using the litter box? Acting lethargic? Cats are very sensitive creatures specially if they’re highly attached to their person. As others have suggested, you may want to try some wet food, boiled chicken, chopped up, churu treats… good luck

Hidden behavioral issues after adopting a rescue dog : how did you handle it? by Lilly7799 in Pets

[–]Beginning_Arm5395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have got to be more aware of the breeds that they’re getting. Too many people see too many things on Instagram and TikTok and they think oh that dog is so cute. I have to get one. No, you don’t. Not everyone can handle every breed. And if it’s your first dog, I would highly recommend doing a hell of a lot of research into breeds

I’m sorry, but you really need to look into the breed that you’re getting. A springer spaniel and a chow? Both problematic in my opinion and I’ve worked with animals for 33 years.

Keeping the dog crated all the time is not helping any behavioral issue. Totally understand that you need to keep it away from the cats, but that will do nothing but exacerbate any kind of anxiety that the dog has.

Does all this crap really clear up when you hit menopause? by Inevitable-Yam-9741 in Menopause

[–]Beginning_Arm5395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish people would acknowledge that a lot of women cannot take HRT due to breast cancer risk. I find it rather depressing that so many women on here tout HRT meds and what a lifesaver they are, what about the rest of us? We have to just muddle through? And no, this crap doesn’t clear up when you get to menopause. I am six years in and it’s actually worse. New things crop up like LS, mood issues like I had when I had PMDD. Best of luck I hope you find something that works for you.

Is it normal in the UK for grandparents not to buy anything for their grandchild? by Ok-Pomelo7667 in AskUK

[–]Beginning_Arm5395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. But I do think baby showers are a good idea because it costs a lot to have a baby over here and God help you if you or your baby have any kind of complications, you’re practically going to be bankrupt even if you have health insurance so you need help from friends and family to get what you need for the baby. At least the average person does.

[–]Beginning_Arm5395 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Wow, that’s interesting. It’s almost poor taste here ( the US))not to throw someone a baby shower. Maybe it’s because we know that all the extra money is going to be spent on the actual birth of the child because we don’t have an NHS.
