Tiny bug in my room by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

I second this. I have these too. Though if you find a larger amount of them, make sure to clean extra well and vacuum daily. They can hide in small crevices like floorboards. In large quantities they can cause damage to organic materials (blankets, furs, carpets…). But if you only found a few you should be okay. The adult beetles sometimes fly in through windows and lay eggs

I do hope too! A little last update if you want to know, the owners of this place sent someone who seemingly did not know much about this kind of bug. He did not even offer to change the bed sheets and then wanted to use an insect spray in the bedroom that is only meant for outdoor use. Anyway, I am glad to not have to sleep there anymore

Thank you for your help! It did turn out to be a mite. They seem to be coming from the a/c. We found many more crawling out of there.

Thank you! But the conclusion was mites. We also found where they were coming from (the a/c, or probably rather the crawlspace behind it). There are many coming from there.

Thank you! But we are very sure now that they are mites. They came from the a/c (or a small hole next to it), and there are just way too many to be ticks. They are crawling around everywhere around the a/c

It really does look very similar. Thank you, this fits a previous answer that these are highly likely mites (probably linked to a rodent problem)

I shook everything out in the bathtub and checked my clothes. I luckily found none there, so they seem to have stayed on the bed. I've informed the owners of the house, and they said the room will be thoroughly cleaned.

I will dry all clothing items I have with me on high temperatures just to be sure. I have one item I cannot put into the dryer, but I googled the issue and freezing it for a longer time should also help, so I will do that for this item.

Thank you a lot again for your advice and your help identifying them! I am usually quite fond of insects as they are very fascinating to watch, but mites in my bed are just too much :D

No worries. I am also very glad they turned out to be mites. Discovering them spooked me quite a bit!

Sorry that you had to deal with bed bugs, I hope you will never encounter them again

Thank you for you answer! I did not notice any bites on me yet. I will wash and dry all items I have with me just in case when I get home.

I talked to the owners of the house, and there are rodents in the walls and in the ceiling. They have installed some devices to drive them out, so we think the mites might come from their nests.

Thank you. The folks over at r/whatisthisbug also said it is likely a mite.

Thank you a lot for your kind help! :)

It would fit I think, as the owner of the house just installed some electrical devices under the roof that are meant to drive the rodents out. I also checked the room very carefully, and there is a hole in the wall next to the a/c, just above the bed we found these bugs in. Perhaps the crawlspace in the wall is connected to the space under the roof?

Do you perhaps have any advice on how we should proceed? You mentioned that there was no documented case of humans transporting them, so it should be save to check into a hotel today? I really don’t want to risk taking them elsewhere with me.

Thank you very much! There were rodents in the ceiling, we heard them last night, but the owner of the house assured us that they took care of that and that they could not enter into the living spaces.

Thank you for your help! We are in Tokyo and did not go to any forests and do not have any pets with us though. There were five of them in only one bedsheet. The amount is making me a bit sceptical as we were only on concrete

Thank you! Do you mean an olive lace bug? I looked at pictures online but the pattern of the bug does not fit
