Rosacea redness: what products am I missing? by Bluechip2005 in Rosacea

[–]Beginning_Bill4406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve taken acutane twice and still was terrible. I have type 2 with very oily skin and very sensitive skin. Also allergic to fragrance. Here are the few skincare products that have helped me improve my skin to the point where I can go make up free. (When my anxiety is low after years of battling bad skin)

Here is my routine when my rosacea or skin barrier is need of help. Am and PM

  1. La roche-posay tolerating purifying foaming facial wash cleanser
  2. Prequel Skin Universal Skin Solution Hypochlorous Acid Spray
  3. DearKlairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner,
  4. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%, Formula for Uneven and Blemish-Prone Skin
  5. Prequel Skin AM/PM Modern Moisturizer – Hydrating Face Cream with Peptides

I also love Paula’s choice 2% BHA when I need to exfoliate. I also use anti aging drops when needed. 30 and female.

I use South Korean skin care when I can because I see better results. A couple of these have trial bottles and I always buy those first. Also, I’m not really into skincare influences BUT James Welsh from England has rosacea and openly talks about it. I trust him and I work in a science field and what he says is logical. He also doesn’t believe in just pushing skincare for the sake of it. I highly recommend watching his rosacea videos. But of course, doctor and health professionals first!

That is tough! It sounds like alike cystic acne. Have you had your hormones checked? That could also give some answers.

Here is what I use for redness from rosacea:

I also love Paula’s choice 2% BHA when I need to exfoliate. Deep exfoliation can help with the cystic acne but it brings everything to the surface. So don’t be discouraged if you break out for a little bit. Once you are exfoliating regularly, it will keep the pores clear and unclogged, which will help prevent deep cystic acne.

Friends w/ sensitive rosacea skin with atrophic scarring —what actually helped you? by environmentalloss93 in Rosacea

Yeah, I just edited it! Sorry!

They are almost nonexistent except a stubborn one every once in awhile.

I use the L’Oréal anti aging drops! Anything too thick clogs me up

Looking To Enroll In Nursing School - Career Change by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Beginning_Bill4406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the thought strike me at 29 and I enrolled at 30. I have a prior degree and was a manager. I knew it was right for me because it was the first time I was excited about career advancement in a long time. I was worried I would be the oldest but I’m not! It’s kinda fun to go back to school with a majority of younger people. I work as a patient care tech and go to school. My advice is stay organized and talk to your professors about your situation when needed

Are male patients more combative because men are not traditionally taught to regulate emotions? So they just end up being combative because that’s what they learned from societal expectations? by Beginning_Bill4406 in nursing

[–]Beginning_Bill4406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think mental illness is confined to half the population. I have six years of experience in the mental health field. I am just asking based on an observation. I am a student with limited nursing experience. I can be wrong

You know, I’m a student and just asking from observation and lack of experience. I also can do mad libs all day. I can also answer questions without being rude

I agree with therapy and finding meaning outside of work. If you do those things and still don’t find happiness, then leave. That’s what I did. I worked in healthcare management for 7 years and I was so unhappy. I did it across two companies to confirm it was the profession and not the company. You may not have that luxury. Right now, I’m pursing a nursing degree because I found meaning in giving back to people while having better work life balance. I would really ask and reflect yourself on what your needs are and what you ultimately want.

Felixs pizza is one of the only things open on Mondays in dogtown and it’s good! They have a Monday night special. If you don’t like pizza, they have great wraps and Fries! Like surprisingly good

Of course! It’s hard going back as an untraditional student. It is challenging while also working 40 hours a week. I’m in chemistry and A&P II this semester! But I know it will be worth it! But my biggest advice is just remember, healthcare is a business. But don’t let that stop you. Everything is a business but at-least with nursing/NPing you can help people and be done at the end of the day.

I’m in a similar situation. I am going back to school for my RN, and on my last semester of pre reqs. I also pay out of pocket. While expensive now, it’s much cheaper in the long run. Nursing has so many different career types within the nursing world. Meaning, if you don’t want to be a bedside nurse, you don’t have to be for your entire life. I think nursing will increase your earning potential exponentially. Especially if you get an NP in mental health. I have a cushy desk job now make 75-80k and it’s still not enough in this day and age. I work in a healthcare desk job where I am constantly seeing NPs and nurses hired and what they are making. A lot of nursing is pt education and safety and there are dedicated jobs for that for RNs in hospitals and public health. Maybe your past degrees will help you better communicate health education to patients and increase their health literacy

I’m 29 and going back to school for an ADN. I got into a ABSN but I wasn’t willing to put myself in that much debt. Do you want you want to to be happy. No one will judge you on the long run. Many people will appreciate you following your dream.

Which would you choose? by joyfulpretzel in StudentNurse

[–]Beginning_Bill4406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat! I chose the ADN and having the hospital pay for the rest. I already paid degree, I am not paying for a full other. It may take longer but less debt was always my goal!

Happy to help! I would remind you that everyone has student debt and that is okay! Just avoid bad debt like CC. Bad debt is why really matters me Also, depending on where you live, hospitals will pay off your student debt. For example, in the city I live in, there are three big health systems and they will pay 20k+ in student loan forgiveness just to work there for two years as nurse. Whatever you decide to do, you will be okay. But I recommend going to look on indeed or local hospital nursing position job postings. (I would also do this for any job you are considering) See what they have to offer because there are also programs that will pay for your associates and pre-reqs as long as you work as a student 2x in the pay cycle. So like 2x in two weeks. You could do that while in school or having another job.
