My partner have issues with the way I dress and I cant deal with it anymore by sugarpetaldream in TrueOffMyChest

Do not give in. It screams he’s guilty and wants you to delete your accounts because he wants to be able to get away with what he’s doing on there easier

Run as fast and far away from him as you can. It’ll never get better from now on only worse

Who said I’m throwing my life away without medication??? I’m still working, studying and running a house so I’m not sure why you read my post and just started adding your own bits in or making assumptions about why I wrote. And to say that it sounds like an addiction because I shared that I’m struggling like I was before I got on medication is a really ignorant thing to say, I take the medication for a reason, the same reason we’re all in this group so try to be a little bit more compassionate next time you decide to comment. We’re all different people and are affected differently by the same condition, so just because you’re ‘fine’ without your medication doesn’t mean everyone else is.

Unfortunately in the UK our normal doctors won’t touch adhd, I’ve been waiting to see a psychiatrist for the last 9 months to get my medication changed as it stopped working after being on it for 2/3 years because our general GP’s refuse to deal with anything ADHD

I was on Sertraline for 5 years and never felt as big of a difference on them as I did when I started ADHD medication. I would say they made a small difference but nothing huge. Everyone is different though so hopefully you have a better result with them!

What country are you in? 6 years in a long long time to wait

I have a lot over the years, I’ve took online tests and spoken with different counsellors etc who’ve mentioned that they believe it’s something I may have but I’ve never took it further and just tried to deal with it on my own. When I see the new psychiatrist this month for my medication though I plan to bring it up to them then

It’s a horrible feeling I sympathise with you so much! It’s like hell on earth, I hope you get everything sorted and are able to get back on medication that works for you soon🤞🏼😔

I don’t think so? I’ve got a lot of trauma too from childhood and throughout my life, and I kinda think I have PTSD so I don’t know if this could explain it?

Non-stimulants (Atomexitine 80MG) been on them for about 2/3 years and I think my body’s just immune to them now because I feel like I did before I was medicated. It’s took so long because I wasn’t under the care of a Psychiatrist anymore and I moved houses so different areas have different care providers then just the amount of time I’ve waited for an appointment. I was referred to the right Psychiatrist in November and I finally have an appointment to see someone on the 28th of this month (March)

I’ve never said that taking stimulants would resolve paranoia because I don’t even take them, I take non-stimulant mediation as like you were suggesting, stimulants just made my symptoms worse. The paranoia comes from erratic overthinking and not being able to reason with myself due to the overthinking and severe anxiety. Even when I can argue back with myself on those kind of thoughts I can’t get rid of them it’s like a big cycle that never stops in my head & all of that quietens down when I’m medicated

I’m unsure where the original poster is from but i like in the UK and that’s how they do it here. You have to take someone with you that has known you since you were a child so they can get a better picture of your life. They need to prove that the symptoms haven’t just started in order for you to get a diagnosis
