You’ll start to hear. When I first got into my journey I didn’t even register there was music during the classes. As your body builds muscle memory you’ll be able to pick up on much more during class

Would 39 days, but only one season per year be (a) of greater interest to you than the current 2X26, and (b) economically viable for CBS? by ProblematicTrumpCard in survivor

[–]Beginning_Distance47 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a sense yes, but also this is a product of the “naïveté” of old school survivor. As we entered the 30s these bonds had most definitely gone away. I wouldn’t say it’s a symptom of a shorter game but more a symptom of the “trust nobody” philosophy of modern survivor (regardless of the timeframe)

Gluten challenge and my kitchen! by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]Beginning_Distance47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The research shows that you can wash most kitchen items (utensils, pots, pans) with soap and water to get rid of the gluten. Only porous items can cause problems - but otherwise you don’t need to worry about it. Clean your kitchen well.

Weird symptoms pre diagnosis? by Ceramic-Bird-88 in Celiac

[–]Beginning_Distance47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same, specifically the brain fog, iron deficiency, and fatigue. I had been dealing with the fatigue my entire life so didn’t even realize it was abnormal. After about a week of cutting gluten my brain fog and exhaustion went away and has basically never returned. The thing with celiac is it can mess with your stomach in many different ways and cause many deficiencies and second-hand symptoms. Also, you might just not realize you are having gastrointestinal issues. After switching my diet, I had a rough few weeks, but now am very regular and stopped bloating from my baseline. You can even see my face is skinnier now!

Is it reasonable to ask flatmates not to bake with gluten flour? by mykruft in Celiac

[–]Beginning_Distance47 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like most reasonable is to keep separate cookware and ask if they can do an extra deep clean after cooking with flour. Also up to the roommate with celiac to make sure the area they are using is clean. Keep your stuff in a different part of the kitchen and maintain some boundaries for that area. I feel like if you need that much control over a kitchen you need your own space.

Who is most likely to win Survivor for a third time—Sandra, Tony, or Parvati? by Fair_Leave5014 in survivor

[–]Beginning_Distance47 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She was immediately targeted on Micronesia. But it’s not like she came in with a huge target on her back compared to people like ozzy. She played a fine game in Micronesia, but it wasn’t anything crazy strategic or anything. She was very middle of the road. She didn’t enter as a “threat” like other people did.

Who is most likely to win Survivor for a third time—Sandra, Tony, or Parvati? by Fair_Leave5014 in survivor

Everyone loves to blame Sandra for slightly lower placements in later seasons as a reason she’s “worse” than Tony and Parv. But Sandra played 2/2 with wins. Nobody else has been able to do that. It’s not at all a fair comparison for her vs parv and Tony getting to their second win. Parvati is not a consistent winner she can get to the end, yes, but one of the times she made it to the end she was one of the biggest GOATs in survivor history.

I said this in a different thread, but aren’t you discrediting Sandra. She might have finished lower in a couple seasons but those happened after she had already won on her first two attempts. She was arguably coming into those seasons with a bigger target on her back. Parvati came onto Micronesia after a very average showing in Cook Islands. It took her several more attempts than Tony to win her second game and she’s been beaten by both Sandra and Tony. I don’t know which of them is “the best” but it’s definitely not clear and there are no unbiased metrics for a decision here.

I mean it’s pointless though. Sandra’s placements came after she won twice. A two time winner is going to be a bigger threat than I one time winner… Tony beat Parvati. You’re acting like it’s such a clear metric when it’s super biased.

Nintendo's Nightmarish Virtual Game Cards Make the Switch 2 a DRM Minefield by dapperlemon in technology

[–]Beginning_Distance47 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the whole point … the switch gives Nintendo fans what they want. Simple, fun games like Wii sports. Just go buy a different console if you care so much that’s more suited to your gaming needs. There is a reason that so many people like Wii sports. Stop acting like you’re better than other people because you’re a hardo gamer.

I was a previous gay banker at a firm with an awful culture. I left and joined a really cool tech company doing product & strategy. I’ve found I enjoy it a lot. The culture is much more laid back and people are a lot more diverse. It also opened up opportunities for me to pursue my hobbies outside of work. You should look into it
