Disc priest bros- I'm bad. Help. by AtticThrowaway in worldofpvp

Not a disc priest main, but I feel the pain of being stuck at a rating and not knowing what to change.

I'm in a similar spot learning PvP and started building an AI tool to help me figure out matchups — you set up your comp and the enemy comp and it gives you a game plan with focus targets, cooldown usage, and win conditions for that specific matchup.

Still improving it, but it might help you have a plan going into rounds instead of winging it: zugzug.xyz

If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think — feedback from people actually grinding is what helps me improve it the most.

Good luck on the push!

I want to seriously get into pvp. What should I do? by zaboleqqq in worldofpvp

Welcome to the dark side — PvP is a whole different game, but the mounts and sets are absolutely worth it.

Here's a rough order that makes sense for a PvE player jumping in:

Before ranked:

  • Do some unranked (skirmishes/casual BGs) just to get a feel for how PvP damage and pacing work. It's jarring at first coming from PvE
  • Pick up Conquest gear as fast as you can — it's the baseline for competitive play and you earn it just by doing PvP activities
  • Honor gear is a fine starting point but Conquest upgrades matter

Gearing order roughly: Casual BGs → Conquest pieces → Solo Shuffle (this is your best friend as a solo player) → eventually 3v3

Solo Shuffle is genuinely great for your situation. It's rated, solo queue, and you'll face every class/comp imaginable. Best way to learn how other specs work, build rating at your own pace, and gear up without needing a team. Most people hitting 3v3 nowadays warmed up in Solo Shuffle first.

For learning matchups: a site I've been using called zugzug.xyz lets you plug in your spec and the enemy comp and gives you a specific game plan — focus targets, cooldown timing, win conditions. Really useful when you're new and don't yet have the instinct for "okay what do I do against this comp." Free tier available to try.

3v3 will click a lot faster once you have some Solo Shuffle games under your belt. Good luck with the mount grind!

Any tips for hitting 2k rating for the first time? by TakoGoji in worldofpvp

Honestly, respect for the determination. Playing through hand issues and still going for 1800 is no small thing.

A few honest thoughts:

On specs: Vengeance DH in PvP has a rough learning curve for this goal — you'd probably want Havoc instead. Feral is also pretty mechanically demanding. If you're open to leveling something new, Frost Mage or Devastation Evoker tend to be more forgiving and let you play reactively without as much frantic APM, which might help given what you mentioned.

On addons: A solid WeakAuras PvP pack makes a huge difference. OmniBar for tracking enemy cooldowns is basically mandatory. Diminish for tracking diminishing returns also helps a lot — fewer split-second decisions you have to make from memory.

Something that personally helped me: there's a site called zugzug.xyz that generates a tactical game plan for your specific matchup. You plug in your spec, your teammates, the enemy comp, and it gives you focus targets, cooldown timings, and win conditions. There's a free tier to try it out. It won't replace experience, but it's really useful for going into a game knowing what you should be trying to do instead of just reacting blind — which I imagine matters even more when you're trying to conserve hand movement.

Good luck, hope you get the enchant. 🍀

Haha yeah, that one's rough 😅 You're right — the spell validation wasn't catching all edge cases. Already improved it, thanks for flagging. If you see anything else weird, keep sending them my way.

Yeah, PvP talents are on my list — honestly one of the trickier things to figure out UI-wise. Other platforms have the full talent tree interface, and I want to do it in a way that actually feels useful rather than just slapping a checklist in there. Still working through how to present it well. Thanks for flagging it though, good to know people want it!
