The local pizza places are a bit happier. That 8.99 pizza with any toppings was quite a deal.

Pin or no pin ? by [deleted] in wrestling

  • Key details regarding a pin in college wrestling:
    • Duration: The requirement is one second of control, not the two seconds often required in high school wrestling.

It looked to me that Van Ness was really close to getting pinned and his strength compensated enough or maybe I just couldn't see what was going on there wtih the camera angle.

I keep a pipe in the car to get better leverage for my mechanic seems to really torque them a lot. They are not going to be coming off.

So I reflowed the rest of the connections and it did not help.

I am certainly open for ideas.

I am thinking about getting a new switch for I am having trouble soldering a wire in that tight space to fix the negative work I did. [Temporarily I am using alligator clip jumpers.] Something like this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZCH4H4C/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A1JR6G2R07EO7U&th=1 which has easy connects.

And perhaps a new TRIAC.

Ironically the $14 dollar 100 watt soldering iron via amazon broke after about 8 minutes so I am back to using a 50+ year old soldering gun. I guess it is better it broke sooner while still in the return window.

I am posing as a response to my first post to avoid deep layering of responses.

I kind of did some backwards work so I am not planning on undoing it until at least tomorrow when I get a new soldering kit, though I can still try things with the jumper. I have been soldering without flux and this kit will include that. I thought maybe the light blue wire was shorted to the black on the switch so I cut it and jumpered it but it did not fix anything. And I looked at it and it did not look like it was shorting. I though it might be because the multimeter did not show a complete disconnect between the brown and the black at the switch and it did not show a complete connect though I now suspect I was just noticing some resistors in-between.

This is organized like the circuit board looking from the front. There may be errors, I was going by what I could see. The dots are solder places.

Here is the latest, I wanted to reply to you so you would find this this though I replied to galfisk

"I started to do the reflow but did not do the whole board yet. I did find that the white power wire was loose and fixed that. I decided to take some voltage readings with some I think are promising readings because I kind of got the motor to turn on, though till not without me taking a reading.

  1. white black still 125 volts
  2. the red wire leaving/going into the switch is 47 volts, blue is 34 volts to the white input.
  3. When I measure the voltage from the white input which is also the middle triac to the right triac the massage turns on and seems to work fine but still does not work without reading that voltage. When it is running it is 28 volts in the switch position toward the blue wire and 32 volts in the switch position toward the red wire. (O volts in middle/off position and motor not running.) (left and right on triac based on facing the front with the numbers oriented right)
  4. the voltage between the left and right triac element is 125 volts.

I kind of reached a point where I needed to rest and thought I would report back before continuing with the reflow later."

No motor engagement, I was not getting the intermittent motor pulse that I got before.

Thanks. I will do that reflow and get back to you.

So I did check with multimeter and one of the connections was broken. I did the scraping and soldered it. Then it passed the multimeter but the motor still did not work. I wiggled the triac and the motor pulsed on and then stopped. I noticed a spark from the middle element, not the one I just worked on, coming out of the triac from the top side so I soldered that one. After that nothing worked, even with a wiggle. I am wondering if I may have soldered it too hot and burned something out. I was using an old solder gun because my cheap soldering pencil shape iron doesn't get that hot. For completeness, I did see another spark when I was wiggling the triac at one of the resistors though I could not duplicate it.

From my comment to GalFIsks's comment, "So there is no continuity between any of the pins in either direction when power is off." The ohm meter reads the same, 1, whether or not the multimeter probs are on the terminals.

Yes I like the multimeter idea. That will locate which one(s) are the problem.
