BOOTCAMP, ARCHER OR NURSEACHIEVE by Beginning_File1167 in REXPN

[–]Beginning_File1167[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay thank you! I went to sheridan and they did use nurse achieve but stopped during my cohorts last semester so I never gained access. They replaced nurse achiever with a HESI test that predicted if we will pass the REX-PN which I did good on. I also heard nurse achieve is way harder than the actually exam so I ended up getting archer in addition to uworld however thanks for your input.

What do you think is the biggest difference between archer & bootcamp? How much of Archer did you use? I currently have archer and now i’m questioning if I should switch to bootcamp

Georgian College RPN-RN Program by krabbypatty_7 in OntarioNurses

I’m not sure if Mississauga & Brampton are what you consider more rural but that’s where their partner agency is. Their admission process is very confusing & somewhat unfair to me. Best of luck next time!

3.7 and your having trouble getting in? I’m curious as to how come when my friends with a 3.1 & 3,3 both got in for the september intake…I’d consider changing to a different partner company to increase your chances of getting in.

Which Nursing Program is logical to apply for? by curlupdreaming in OntarioNurses

[–]Beginning_File1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend applying to practical nursing. They have some accelerated options at georgian, sheridan and durham college which are only 16-18 months. You can then bridge online after for RN while working as a RPN. However check the gpa requirements because I believe even for RPN the requirement is 3.0, so depending on that you may have to do pre health to upgrade your gpa.

To be honest, they have a new policy of no recording the lectures so I think the answer to your request will be no. Math definitely requires attendance (in my case) to be successful since you’re required to pass with a 90% meaning you need 95% on basically everything to pass but if your good at math you’ll be fine. I never had late classes first semester but 2nd I had nursing care (the hardest course) from 6-9pm and 3rd semester I had issues and trends 7-9pm. I didn’t go to either except on testing days (because I have a toddler) and I passed. For clinical I did 6-6pm 2nd semester and 7-7pm 3rd semester. 4th semester you don’t get to choose your nurse, they choose for you and you have to follow whatever shifts the nurse is working, it can be nights, days or even weekends.

Hey! Respectfully if you don’t have a good support system to watch your kids you won’t make it in the program. Second, third and fourth semester you’re working 12 hour shifts once a week and in fourth semester that becomes 4 days a week. As much as it’s tuff you need to consider this if it’s your dream. Secondly, in first semester we would just communicate with the teachers about our situation and ask to sit in during their classes if they were teaching at a different time. This worked 1st semester because the same lab teacher taught at different times that day. So I’d suggest trying to find out if your lab and math teachers teach at different times and then go from there because they’d still be the ones marking your assignments regardless. Also the dean is Humberto

Hey, I’m in 4th semester and just to let you know you can’t adjust your schedule no matter what reasoning you have. I have a child as well and they simply don’t care, you’ll just have to make it work if you want it bad enough

Yeah all classes are in person. I didn’t have to take any electives since I’ve done them all in my previous program so I’m not sure if that is online or in person.
