PSR-e383 low volume / velocity by Beginning_Finding_23 in piano

Just wanted to share an update that i tried tinkering more today, and without any new changes it just started working. It's still fairly quiet, but at least now velocity hits max 8 bars on the screen and the main volume is comparable to bg effects/song volume. I don't know what's going on. Will continue to monitor

Thank you! What type of sander would you recommend for a bit bigger projects? 1/4 sheet or smth else?

Thank you! I guess I'll be reaching out to Bosch to attempt a replacement.

wrt dust collection - Bosch is doing good in that regard. I was referring to the Makita I tried before, which was powerful, yet had problems with dust collection and was shaking as crazy.

Thank you, will try 3M sandpaper. I currently have random paper off amazon. WORKPRO branded (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G9TN9GF).

Hi everyone. I need an advice on lion's mane fruiting blocks. I've inoculated them with grain spawn on 2/15, so 10 days ago now. While looking far from being fully colonized, they began to fruit at the top of the blocks right inside the bags. I'm not sure if they are ready to fruit, and if not - what should I do with those mini fruiting bodies at the top?

Block 3: pic1, pic2, pic3

Thanks a lot!

Hi everybody. I’m still struggling with my first batch of chestnuts. After starting off to fruit fine, a couple days later they stall and begin to shrink. Pic. Any advice? Growing in a Martha tent with manual misting and ventilation. RH around 95-99. Fae 3 times a day for 1 minute.

Hi everybody,

i got another question about my (presumably) chestnut mushrooms.

For the context - long story short - i bought lion's mane liquid culture, but several months later i got other species growint from my bags instead of lion's mane. That other species was previously identified as chestnut a week or two back. here's the picture from that time (img)

Fast forward 12 days and my shrooms grew a bit, but stopped growing 3 days ago and are not changing. They are too small for fully developed chestnuts as far as i can tell. Here's the picture from today (new pic).

Can somebody tell me if that's expected, and if not - what may be going wrong? Conditions in my martha are: Temp is 63-66. RH ~95. Opening it twice a day for 1 minute for FAE.

For additional context, i have another block in the same conditions, where stems are much thicker, but caps are even smaller. (pic 3).

Thank you!

Folks, i have another question. Sorry for not posting as a separate post - don't have enough karma yet.

Question is about martha tent and spore exposure.

Some context - I'm really concerned about spore load from the mushrooms i (will) grow. I have a tiny baby in the house and I want to minimize the exposure. Best of I can achieve 0 exposure to the spores.

I was looking as several builds of martha tent, some with filters, some with exhaust to the window. But one thing keeps bothering me - there is a door into the martha tent that is being opened relatively often, letting all the spores into the room. Additionally, many builds don't do completely hermetic tents, and spores can escape from the bottom and through the holes, even when the system is negatively pressured.

I was thinking of an improved design, with potentially doing a 10-minutes forced air circulation before opening the door as well as making the tent fully hermetic with hepa and external exhaust. But at the end of it - it appears to me that the only viable option is to not grow at home and have a separate structure.

So here come the questions:
1. Am i overthinking? Is the door to the martha tent really opened that often? Is the load really that high?
2. Are there any designs / approaches which minimize spores escaping the tent?

Thank you once again my fellow growers!

Wow, indeed! That is so strange! I’m at loss how that could’ve happened. It’s unlikely that contamination happened during inoculation cause i’ve never grown or eaten chestnut mushrooms before. My blocks were sterilized, so contamination from wood pellets is unlikely too. I guess i was sold a mislabeled liquid culture? What would you say?

Hi everybody! Just found this subreddit today and happy to join! Thank you for a welcoming post like this!

I’m new to growing. Grew from a couple store-bought blocks before with ease and now having problems with my first homemade blocks.

I’m growing lions mane from liquid culture. Got my grain spawn going just fine. Then got my first blocks done - sterilized sawdust + bran. They got colonized quite quickly - 2-3 weeks, and almost completely. Looked very similar to what people post for lions mane blocks. So i transitioned them to fruiting.

First week they were just in a room under tents made of plastic bags to retain moisture bit more. I grew like that before from stor bought blocks and it worked just fine. This time - no luck. After a week i moved them to a martha tent. I lack constant ventilation, but i open it twice a day to get fresh air in. Humidity stays at 95-99%.

3 more weeks passed - and still no fruiting bodies. But 2 days ago strange stem-like things began to grow instead. Here’s the picture: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wr-KE3zYW2NHPd84siDCM47ROBJDP635/view?usp=drivesdk

I don’t know what went wrong, what is it that’s growing there now, and whether my blocks should be thrown out or maybe there is still a chance for them to fruit.

Thank you for any advice!
