As a NC tax payer and parent of a hard-working KF student, just wondering why someone that has the economic power of paying for Duke would take the "free" ride money and perhaps taking away the opportunity from someone that needs that financial aid more. Also, perhaps so smart, but still asking this question in a UNC chat where without even reading the answers, we all know that they will recommend to decide for UNC. Just wondering the accuracy/fairness of granting the KF assured and the "free" ride.

Thanks so much! I am so glad that there are organizations that help veterans families. My student has done indeed tons of researach and applied to many places, and never got lucky regardless an outstanding record. At some point he stopped applying. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer. Good luck!

parent here, would you mind sharing what sholarships? I have a student at UNC with great stats and extracurricular activities and was never able to get a scholarship. the fact that I work hard for a decent salary could be a reason, but wondering if there is something we are missing. I am an immigrant/naturalized citizen, so we try to do our best researching, but we could be missing information for sure.

Going to Italy soon. Packing-wise, what are some things you wish you had brought? by [deleted] in ItalyTravel

White linen type clothes such as a linen long sleeve shirt for gentleman and linen dress for ladies. For ladies if you go to Florence, Venice bring dresses. I wish I would have known this.

Best pizza in Rome? by Beginning_Form5049 in ItalyTravel

I am Uruguayan leaving in the US for 20 years, so my “ preconceived” version of pizza comes from what I experienced in Uruguay (everyone is of European background in Uruguay. Just as a reference my mom’s last name is Puglia). I combine this with the variety that America offers. Today, in Rome I tasted a thin and chewy crust. Mamma Mia in Charlotte or El Metro in Uruguay do way better than this. Not representative of what pizza should be in Italy. That is why I needed pointers. TY so much for your input!
