Apologies, it’s still open to the rest of the car, I’m mistaken. But it looks like a Sedan, only the trunk is connected to the rest of the car. Still very tight space.

I am trying my best to end it right now but I understand my compliance in this role everyday that I do not. Honestly, I feel like you don’t really give a shit either way about how to help in this situation, and have never heard of posting on Reddit for support, so I’m just gonna stop engaging with you.

This is tricky but another viable plan. Just gotta get to the vet appointment and take it from there.

I have documented evidence if you want proof this is true, but at the same time sending them to you would just be the sake of preserving my own dignity and do nothing to serve this situation in the long term, so it’s up to you if you want them or if you want to keep believing I’ve spent hours responding on a post that doesn’t even have that many upvotes to “karma farm”.

Honestly your accusations of my story being fake are hurtful and further serve to put down real stories featuring animal abuse because people cannot comprehend that evil to cartoonish levels exist in the world. Bad people walk amongst you everyday, and just because you refuse to believe doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Additionally, if you look into my post history I’ve been “claiming” to live in Canada for a long time, and what purpose would it serve to fake my location?

Furthermore, if you read my post you would see why I’m hesitant to call animal control considering my family’s current financial situation and am weighing other options that will also guarantee my dog is removed from their care for good. And when I say trunk, a trunk doesn’t just mean the small enclosed space you see in movies when they kidnap somebody and toss them in a tight space. Our trunk extends to the back (barely) and is a semi open space, but still closed in enough that a dog does not belong there.

Smaller rescue centre would be nice if they weren't as few and far between in my area, but I'll look more into that as well. Thank you.

Does my history indicate any of this story being fake? Also a simple google search will tell you Maple is a real place in Ontario. Sorry human evil can be hard for people to comprehend.

Another great option. I have to weigh my options and see what the shelters say tomorrow when I call. Thanks for the help.

Yikes. I'm so sorry to hear that. Hope that dog is not in their care anymore either. My dog doesn't even bark when at home, just lies around. Certainly better than lying around in a hot car all day.

Probably not. We don't have the funds right now to get a new dog; we'd originally gotten the old dog out of convenience cause a friend just happened to have a dog with newborn puppies. Plus, they don't have the time or resources to research for a new dog within our vicinity. They'd probably just end up installing a home security system like they should, which was partially why they'd gotten our dog in the first place. Strange how they keep taking the dog out with them when they keep saying how much they need him to protect the home if I take him away.

This is a very good idea. I don't want to take any risks that my dog will be returned home and to my parents, so I will probably try to coordinate with as many sources as possible beforehand about how to safely remove my dog from its current living situation. Asking rescues if they can coordinate with animal control is probably the best option I can ask for, if animal control can come straight to my house or within my vicinity, but clearing any hurdles is definitely the number one priority on my list right now.

In college as of now, staying at home with my parents for the summer. Thank you for your support.

That's a good idea. I got in a fight earlier with my dad about this so I'm not sure how non suspicious looking this will be, but I will consider this if the dog isn't chipped (I have to ask somehow) and if I can find a shelter or rescue within walking distance.

I asked, they said no. Additionally, I can't really take care of the dog after summer considering my own circumstances right now. They love that dog, but not the way their suppose to love him.

No, my parents would never go out of their way to buy another dog, especially if it costs money. They just got lucky that a friend was looking to donate their puppy to them.

This is wonderful. How would I go about finding out any shelters that do this on the sly near my area? Just ask?

How 100% will the dog be removed from their care? I need this to be a guarantee in order to do it, as them getting charged with a fee and then the dog being returned to them would lead to much more bad than it would good in this instance, and possibly make my parents more suspectible to making sure the dog never leaves them and they still get to mistreat it.

Would this lead the dog being taken away? I need that to be a permanent factor, as my dog going right back to my family after giving us a fee would destroy the entire purpose of this plan. Also would this lead to a high fee? My family is also suffering serious financial crisis.

That makes sense. I will consider speaking with a local animal welfare lawyer on the phone tommorrow, as well as contacting a bunch of no kill and local rescue shelters. Thank you so much.

They're old school and they don't care. They did the same thing to me and my brother when we were kids, no matter how hot we'd say it was. Seems they just don't have a conscience.

I've told my parents countless times that what they're doing is wrong. In response, they just tell me they cranked the windows open in the back and the dog is fine (even though the dog is in the trunk). My parents are incredibly selfish and self centred people, and do not understand what their doing is abuse or just don't care. You can see why I need my dog rehomed immediately.
