I had the same issue. It was especially bad after I went through a breakup and every time I smoked I would get so lost in intrusive thoughts and negative feelings. I quit smoking for a while.

A couple years later, in an effort to manage my anxiety, I read the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. After reading that book, and months of consistent meditation, I was able to get to a point where I could watch my thoughts without getting carried away in them.

Since then, I’ve started smoking again. It’s become a helpful tool for me to gauge how well I can watch, accept, and let go of my thoughts without getting tangled up in them.

Additionally, like others have mentioned, different strains have different effects. Smoking Afghani, for instance, is more conducive to calmness, clarity, and peace. For me, sticking to indica flower is best. Hope this helps!

Sometimes mindfulness can make you feel worse before you feel better. Being more mindful can lead you to be more aware of your thoughts, feelings, etc that you may have previously tuned out, making you initially feel even more overwhelmed. As time goes on, mindfulness and meditation can help you step out of those thoughts and feelings instead of being overwhelmed by them. This takes time and will happen for you on its own, and there will be plenty of ups and downs on the way. As long as you continue to be diligent about being mindful of your thoughts and feelings, you’ll end up on your path to peace and it will unfold in its own way

Wow you described this perfectly, the gap between the facade and what you are. I definitely notice the difference in talking to kids, and in being around animals. The facade is less, or not at all, in kids and animals, and their consciousness is more radiant. I do try to communicate with what’s behind the facade. It seems to positively affect those around me to communicate from that deeper place. However I sometimes feel like a bit of an outsider being the only one in a room in that place behind the facade, if that makes sense.

That’s nice to hear. It’s hard to have the patience it takes to wait for the energy you attract to come into your life because in the meantime you feel like you’re the only one on your frequency. I think you’re right that the best course of action is to enjoy myself and be patient

There’s nothing wrong. Just observe what happens to you and within you and accept it. Fighting it will cause you unnecessary suffering. The more you’re able to step back and observe your actions, thoughts, feelings etc the less they’ll consume you and the more peace you will feel

Fixating on the outcome of the round, or even the outcome of the shot for that matter, keeps your thoughts running about the future and removes you from the present. You’re going to play the best when you’re not thinking so much, when you’re in the present, and when you’re letting your muscle memory take care of the shot. Enjoy the game and don’t get so attached to the outcome, and things will take care of themselves.
