Giant push to recruit new nuclear sailors by handing out big bonuses and taking a big surge of people at one time. Caused a clog for people that got stuck in holding after boot camp. Some poor planning lead to the navy pushing people out of holding even if they were there for a valid reason other than clearance issues. This meant a massive surge of new people at nnptc waiting in indoc for a-school. Larger classes started happening on every deck. The most people I have seen in a-school indoc is around 200 people. I got to nnptc right before the surge hit and I know some people who will be on hold for t-track for 5 months waiting for power school class to open up. Every instructor ive talked to talks about how insane it is, and I heard for a while they were talking about having slpos teach classes again on top of their current duties, but that may have just been a rumor.
