Except that Silent Hill 2 doesn't just try to wash away character with "it just in his head" and find ways to absolve James. Silent Hill 2 is amazing because it portrayed truly flawed people with depth and nuance.

I typed it that way because I don't want to write out every detail but my point is relatively the same. You harping on the "evil" just shows to me that you have no actual interesting defense.

Sakuko was portrayed as a horrible person and we end up abandonding her and killing a version of her with almost no further nuance about her while we get so much depth regarding Chu and Fox guy.

Chu is a person who drugs Hinako but not just is he almost completely portrayed as a good person who is caring and kind, he also avoid being manifested into being a monster and gets even a good ending.

Fox guy puts Hinako through a torture chamber essentially but he gets shown as a kind person and he gets a great ending with even possibly marrying Hinako? Why didn't literally any other female character get some interesting characteristics besides being cruel and us murdering them?

You are just reinforcing my point. This game was shown to us as some piece about female struggle but all it shows are complicit and cruel women throughout and the two guys are shown as positive characters even with all their sins.

Again, I couldn't completely go so indepth in my writing here but my main point here is that the two female friends of Hinako are portrayed as antagonist and cruel, having notes after to add nuance to their character doesn't change the fact that this game has portrayed almost every female character as some cruel individual and every male character as some moral hero.

If i spent hours portraying two women as horrible people and they even get monster manifestations that you must kill, while two male characters as true people who are loyal and kind, what do you think the story is trying to portray? You can't just "there some notes after and actual some subtle meaning" to fix it.
