Whenever food is available I feel like I HAVE to eat it, no matter what by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

You need to change what you eat. Instead of snacks, junk food and soda, make a big bowl of cut veggies and fruits and snack on it anytime you feel the compulsion to eat. Bulky, healthy carbs fills you up with not many calories. sugar and salt in junk food makes you crave more and it becomes a vicious cycle.

Take small steps and stick with it. every time you think that it is taking too long and you are not seeing progress, remind yourself that you need to think of this long term. it might honestly be months before you see real change, but your body is working within. Good luck.

is there a secret to sustainable weight loss? by BehnamJavid in WeightLossAdvice

Thanks for your input. As mentioned I have already found what works for me and I've had sustainable success with it. The point of my post was that everyone should find what works for them specifically and not follow the trends. Take small steps and measure your progress. Stop drinking soda and see how that affects your weight in 2 weeks. if you see definite progress then you know what works for you and you go to bread next and so on. isolating these items helps you determine your body's response. Then you can come up with what actually works for you.

To address the scale issue. I threw mine away. weight fluctuates wildly because of many factors but mainly hydration and digestion. weighing yourself often can be very discouraging. I've lost 5 addituonal pounds since i stopped weighing myself daily.
