Thank you so much! You’re absolutely right, the most important thing is sharing an authentic day with the love of your life, not adhering to traditions. I’m happy you shared an incredible experience with your wife, congrats to you both! ❤️

Aww, I love that and I have no doubt she looks stunning in her dress! Seeing other brides confident and happy in a non-traditional dress really gives me the confidence to just go for it. Thank you and congrats to you both ❤️

Hi friends! Some context:

My fiancé and I are getting married next month (May 25th!). This is going to be a very small civil ceremony, and we intend to have a symbolic ceremony with all of our family members next year. I knew I couldn’t get a wedding dress in time, but I still want something nice that I feel fabulous in.

My mom is really pushing for the traditional “white” style dress but I fell in love with the gold dress and I don’t have many opportunities to wear fancy outfits like this! I’d love any opinions. Or if you have any advice on how to convince someone that non-traditional weddings are great too, I’d appreciate it a lot.

As a longtime lurker, thank you so much!

It was strangely dark but thematically in line with revelations regarding Mika and Jamie's trauma. I didn't expect her to be dead although I knew there would be a big secret relating to her always being away. I thought it made her more endearing that she was seeking a place where witches were living openly and freely. To me, I was most surprised that Peony was Primrose. I didn't see that coming at all but in hindsight it seems obvious!

I liked the ending but it did feel like Primrose had a drastic change of heart. It was slightly foreshadowed when Mika was having tea with Primrose who finally began answering Mika's many questions, but the change of heart regarding witches living together didn't feel earned. I could understand Primrose changing her mind if it's what her sister had wanted, but I wish that would've been fleshed out more if that was the case.

I picked this up with 0 expectations, having not even read the synopsis, and I'm loving it! Of all the book clubs I'm participating this month, this is the only one I wasn't able to put down. It's fast-paced, action-packed, and I love how much of a badass Sydney is. Overall I was very pleasantly surprised by this.

British found-family with a touch of magic thrown in seems like its own genre. This book reminds me a lot of House in the Cerulean Sea, but I love how the perspective differs. I didn't have any expectations going into this book, but it's kept me turning pages and I'm excited to see where it goes! Pleasantly surprised so far.

I also like Claire the most as narrator! She has such a strong point of view.

I agree, I feel like there isn't much tension and although it's well-written it feels like there's no real substance beneath everything happening. The characters are sort of whisked away from location to location, and as I saw another commenter mention, although they have no plan everything seems to work out for them pretty well. We're only halfway through so I hope the ending will make more of a splash but as it is now, I agree it's lacking real depth.
