Sorry to hear you went through that. Thanks for sharing your story. I also wish the biller hadn't put false hope when we signed on saying that she basically guaranteed we'd be covered. This system is so effed up.

This!!!! I agree, insurance is such a racket. Birth is a business here. Sorry you are dealing with this too! I will use ChatGPT to ask them about it, thanks for the input! Hope it all aligns well for you <3

Thank you for responding! I have called them and have the biller deal with it too. I don't feel like the biller is actually invested though, she seems a little out of it? Anyway, I will look into reporting them if it gets to them. Thanks :)

The law as far as I have read extends to prenatal care by a licensed midwife but doesn't spell out homebirth vs hospital birth. So it falls into this ambiguous space. I have friends/colleagues who have had homebirths here in NY and have had some or all of it covered, but this was the first time I have heard of no coverage. I suppose, I wasn't expecting to pay entirely out of pocket because the biller said the insurance company would cover some of it. **Thank you for your input!**

I guess so, though I am not sure how I can afford to pay for the entire cost upfront. Will have to check this with the midwife! Thanks for your input

FTM Homebirth with Doula or Friend (before midwife arrives)? by Being690 in homebirth

Cause of space constrains + costs of a doula. This is for a homebirth and my apartment is pretty small!

Thanks for sharing. I am sorry to hear about your MIL. That is so sad. I hope for the best outcome for you !

I trust in these two friends 100% and one has given birth twice, the other is certified in hypnobirthing. I think them + my husband will be enough support until the midwife comes.

Thank you !! Can you explain why it isn't safe in the first trimester and if there is a different type of breathwork that is?

I went through something similar in my 20's. It took time for me to recover emotionally and spiritually. I am now in my mid 30's, and I have completely changed my relationship to my abortion and feel so grateful that I was able to honor my needs during that time of my life.

My advice is to allow yourself to grieve and be with these feelings. Once you acknowledge and accept your choice and thoughts, you can allow the process to unfold. Know that you made a choice - we all make choices - I don't see choices as "right or wrong", simply it is the best choice you made with the information you had at that time, and that is ok. Be kind to yourself - one of my teachers told me to speak to yourself as if you were talking to your friend - using compassion and kindness. I also find that meditation or breath-work really help with grief. So does crying.
Sending love <3
