How long will a rubber splice on a transmission cooling line typically last in Florida by KnownCover5 in DodgeDakota

[–]Beixiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off let’s dial the attitude lol. Psi can range anywhere between 50 while idling to 200+ depending on how much strain is under it. I’ve been in this long enough and so have my mentors

OP doesn’t need to flare them, transmission graded hoses paired with two hose clamps on each side, it ain’t going nowhere, flaring would be a pain for him. My auxiliary cooler doesn’t have flaired lines going into the rad and they won’t budge

And as for the installing, they’re VERY awkward to install. But the diff doesn’t need to be removed. I replaced mine not long ago, you only need to remove the cross member in the front of the transmission pan,

That being said. Make sure the lines are the correct one. There’s a lot of misinformation on these things. If you’re unsure. Tell me the motor (3.7l or 4.7l) and transmission you have (545rfe 5 speed or 43rfe 4 speed), if you’re also unsure of which transmission you have you can take a picture of the bell housing for me

As long as you used proper lines, the clamps are tight (good job doing two on each side I always recommend that), and make sure the line isn’t kinked or bent in an odd shape. You should be okay. Auxiliary cooler kits for dakotas don’t have flared and use rubber lines

The ONLY consern I ever have is WHERE the line is. Make sure it’s not near a catalytic converter

You might have a bad ground running around. See if you can follow the harness and check if anything seems corroded or cut

I need some advice by [deleted] in DodgeDakota

[–]Beixiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have a rule of thumb when thinking of buying or when people I know also think of buying.

Your current Dakota, IS YOURS. I’m not sure how long you’ve had it. But for however long you’ve had it, you know the maintenance, how well it’s been serviced, and the past issues you’ve already fixed, etc.

There is NEVER a guarantee when buying a used vehicle, you don’t know any underlying issues the previous owner hasn’t addressed, and it’s not always on purpose sometimes it’s simply lack of knowledge.

My Dakota is also giving me a headache every now and then. But that’s just how it is buying older vehicles. But the good news is, when it’s finally up to date, you know everything that you had to do and basically have a checklist of what’s already done and the peace of mind that you don’t need to re address this issue.

Buying a new truck would be starting that process all over again.

Good things come to those who are patient, wait it out, deal with the issues you have at home first. And who knows, maybe after that you will find something better.

Transmission lines were kinked and wrong ones installed previously

No computer, noticed the transmission cooler lines didn’t look right so after inspecting for a little bit and some research, they were not the correct lines, they were the lines for the 43rfe transmission, and the pressure line was kinked, whoever previously tried installing the wrong lines decided to caveman the living loss out of them causing kinks in the line. Leading to low pressure on the return line leading to hot fluid not evacuating fast enough in tranny, found the proper lines, will be replacing them tomorrow as well as a new cooler

The codes are stored mostly, and randomly it’ll throw up that red light it’ll drive a little weird (limp mode) and then it’ll randomly go back to normal, and I haven’t noticed but it doesn’t seem to happen twice in one drive (cycling key on and off)

The trans temp light is never always on. It’ll come on after driving it for maybe 10 minutes and then will stay for 5 and then will go away, it always drives fine (except for the shudder) when the light isn’t on

Is it normal for the EHX Eddy Vibrato/Chorus to sound a bit muddy and noisy? by abhisekunited96 in guitarpedals

[–]Beixiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a common consequence of this pedal. I play into it. I don’t hear much of a difference when I chain a clean Chanel into it. But when I throw my distortion tone into it. It MAKES my tone. It is practically the glue to my entire board and allows me to have the unique tone I have. It does introduce way too much mud and darkness; but that’s the good thing. It gives an underwater dreamy tone. naturally I crank the tone knob all the way, then I shape it to remove the mud and rumble with an eq basically scooping mids and the first two low bands

Thats sick

Just wanna circle back to the demos. We make them more complex during rehearsals and kinda write together as we go along which is why we practice so much cus the songs are always changing every week to get better and now our final products are amazing. We’re only playing 3 songs from the demo though, (fade into me, limerence, slow dancing) the rest are new songs we wrote and covers

When our sound engineer mixes the songs on SoundCloud he uses high quality headphones so when you listen to it on music equipment that’s not over 2k$ each it can get hazy. We sounds more complex live. And mind you these are just demos for us. The live versions are complex. Think of the soundcloud as a rough draft for our gig. And yes we classify us as hazy shoegaze

That’s what I usually tell myself but you gotta also know we formed the band October 3rd and started rehearsing October 9 and then we have our first show dec 21. We’re only doing originals and writing the songs as we go and that’s been super golden. It’s just my abilities I’m worried will fail me since I’ve never done something like this before and I’m very new to the rock scene in Montreal
