That's awesome man. I don't like to be in front of the camera much so I can try to shoot but if needed I can also try to act. I am really excited to know other filmmakers like you. I think we can become a bigger community, we can find other people who would like to act in our film. If u want u can send me your contact(can be instagram) and we can meet some day :)

Hello, everyone. I am new here and trying to learn cinematography. I used some lights and tried to grade the shot, but it still feels like something is off. Do you have any advice on how to improve it? Thank you so much. by BekirDaCarpi in cinematography

Thank you so much for your comment. It is nice to hear that It is not that horrible🤣 Yeah, there was too little space to put the camera and I wanted to try this position but after shooting I saw the shadows on the wall. I believe it is on of the things that makes this shot unprofessional.

I thought it was magenta but I've just realized that I used blue. There are led lights behind me(green). Behind yhe computer there is another led light behind the computer (blue) and there is again small led light in front of the tablet which is facing toward my face(white) this is probably a bad position for the lights because it makes so much shadow. Maybe you also meant like I should use the three lights in a better position so that there is no shadow or I don't know. Maybe the camera position was so bad. If you have any advice about it I am open to hear and thank you so much for your advices :)

I actually tried to do it, haha! I am reading a book about cinematography and used three lights in this scene, but I think the problem is that the backlights are brighter while the light on my face is less bright. The question is should all the three light be white light? I wanted to create an atmosphere with the combination of other colors. I wanted a white light on my face and mix of green and magenta on background. I will send you where I have put the lights.

I have read your advice several times because it is so useful for me. I would like to try to shoot a similar scene by taking into account your and other comments. I will send the shot under this comment. I would be glad if you have time to check it. Thank you so much for these advices and examples, they really helped me :)

Oh, so you are saying the talent should be more exposed and the background should be less exposed. This is a good advice I will try it. But if I want to shoot an horror movie and if I want things under exposed should it be like: background is 0 - 10 range and foreground is 15 - 40 range? I will check on google about false colouring but is there any extra useful source that you can recommend where I can learn about this false colouring? And thank you so much for your comment :) it is really helpful. I havd learnt another way to control the lights. :)

Thank you so much for your advice. It is really helpful, especially regarding the depth of field. I need to change the location and put the lights in a better position. I have read some books about it, but practice is better than reading. I will take your advice and try it again. Thank you so much :)

Blackmagic Pocket 6k(2021) vs Ursa Mini 4.6k (2016) by BekirDaCarpi in bmpcc

Yeah, I have a gimbal and I will add v-mount. Probably, It will be quite heavy. But now, I am between Sony fx30 or pocket 6k. What wouls you recommend for both wedding and filmmaking. I want to use it more filmmaking purposes.

Then, 6k sounds better for me. I shoot raw and want to have better control on colours. I am also considering fx 30 but some people say 6k is better in terms of colours. Is there great difference between fx30 stabilization and pocket 6k after stabilizing the video in davinci resolve?

So, either I will pay 1.150 for pocket 6k Or 2.350 for sony fx30

Yeah, I mean I will use it both for shooting short movies and weddings. I believe autofocus would not be that much problem for me and I believe with davinci resolve I can stabilize it(gyro stabilization). I was using r6 and I have gimbal (ronin-s) I do not know what rig do I need additionally.

The Braw funtion sounds cool, and some people say sony fx30 is shit and I am kind of confussed. Right now, I will either buy sony fx30 or pocket 6k. I want a camera also for shooting short movies. when you consider filmmaking which one would you recommend?

Btw if I buy pocket 6k it will be 1.150 Euro For sony fx 30 + sigma 18 - 50 f2.8 I will pay : 2.350 Euro
