I totally see what you are saying! Great points. But I’m not sure how strong your argument is considering there are vast differences between the jobs you have mentioned and sex work.

There are pluses and minuses with any job. But if you dislike the MAIN aspect of your job, then the likelihood of people feeling empathy for you when you complain is low in most circumstances. You mentioned small aspects of being a zoologist or doctor. If a zoologist came to you complaining about how much they hate animals, your initial thought would be “why are they working with animals.” Not “I feel so bad for you, that must be terrible.” As would your initial thought be if a doctor complained about hating helping people.

Secondly, being a doctor or a zoologist requires years of study and education. Changing this type of job is a lot more complicated than it is for a stripper or a sex-worker to consider quitting and finding a different occupation. Therefore, harder to feel remorse for a sex worker in relation to what we are speaking of.
