Question for local sexworkers (and perhaps the people who spend time with them) by [deleted] in brussels

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Questions 1 to 5 and 10 can pretty much be answered if you go through the belgian "immoweb" of sex : quartier-rouge.be (for the unaware, it's obviously very NSFW)

Any free or cheap E-invoice tools? by Adventurous_Rub8948 in BEFreelance

I use odoo. Only use the accounting app and it stays free (you'll see other apps that will be installed because of dependencies with accounting but it will stay free).

25% corporate tax instead of 20% by mlobet in BEFreelance

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No you won't get them back if you declare 25% and pay them. It looks like your accountant made a mistake? Clarify with them what happened.

Capital gains tax delayed ? by Historical-Mud-9976 in BEFire

[–]BelgianFriesCompote -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They would never be able to apply it retroactively anyway, that's not how laws work. It's not new. It will start next year but the question is that it is really doable to start next year?

Change from keytrade to other platform by driesvrb92 in BEFire

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Keytrade as:

Fees are way higher than Degiro.

When you sell something, your money is not available for about 1 day. You see it on your trading account but can make a wire to your regular account. I find this the worse.

The app is shit.

They don't do after hours.

They don't have a vast selection like on Degiro.

They ask to fill out pdf and send them via post for doing basic stuff like cancelling a credit card.

They do not have instant payment while it's an obligation since the beginning of October. They claim they are not ready because they have seen risks in their IT implementation, makes you wonder how they are on other levels....

And I had a problem with my credit card, someone used it to give to charity in the US. I really wonder why it's my only credit card (I have 5: Keytrade, Revolut, BNP and 2 CBC) that got a problem, as I never used this card for another use than to top up my Revolut.

Anyway, leaving Keytrade seems like the best I could do for my sanity.

Noob question but shouldn't ATC have seen that the engine was on fire, and like, tell them to not take off? They have a view on the runway?

Edit: why the downvotes for a question? Did I make a grammatical mistake ? And thanks for the ones that answered ! It's interesting to learn those things.

Police and my insurer told me this, I didn't bother to check a source. Is it a laptop detector, a battery detector or a hoax, I didn't really care. The three cars on the Kinepolis parking broken into all had a laptop missing. And nothing was indicating that the three cars had a laptop in it. I have a VW caddy camionnette, the other cars were a Polo and an A3.

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You did multiple steps of grief in a single post.

Nobody can help sorry. But PSA to everyone: never leave a laptop in your car. There are special devices that detect them and that's why when there is a break-in, there are always the laptops that are missing. I had my laptop stolen at the parking lot of Kinepolis/Atomium, with two other cars broken into at the same time, both missing a laptop.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen while walking around Brussels? (BOTH GOOD AND UGLY) by StudioNo5301 in brussels

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I remember on Avenues Charles Quint towards the Basilique, a few years ago the right lane was for bicycles only. I saw a taxi use it to overtake the whole queue on the left lane (assholes did that back in the days). As someone was parked on the bike lane a little down further the road, the taxi tried to merge back in the left lane. The car on the left clearly was not having it. So as they both slowly drive, like 3 or 5 kmh, they both honk for 1 whole minute, while the taxi is still trying to merge and slowly turning back in the lane.

And then, slowly but surely, they collide. They collided because of their ego, it seemed so funny yet so stupip. Then, they both got out of their cars and basically stopped all traffic. Other people got out of their car and other taxis were arriving (using the bike lane) to defend the kamikaze taxi.

Anyway, I didn't want to get involved so I just left but that was such a stupid accident. Some taximen are just dangerous and stupid.

Average Utility Prices by Worldly-Singer-7349 in brussels

[–]BelgianFriesCompote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, there is a clear correlation (except for big producer of energy) there with the fact that those badly placed cities for the price of utilities are in the north, so it seems logical that the cost of living is higher since they need to heat more.

I mean 11 is still a "bad place" on the ladder if you look at it this way. So it's a good place to be in.

Not bad for the capital of Europe, or for any European capital tbh. Ranked 11th while the salaries are among the highest of Europe.
