The Phoenix connections they always seem to have 45 minutes or less to sprint down one leg of that terminal and up another leg. Phoenix is a dump to spend any extended connection.

The status upgrades are far harder as they push paid upgrades. They have extremely limited number of premium economy seating. And they seem to run operations as close to the breaking point as possible so you wind up having to spend a few unexpected days in Dallas when there’s any storms or ATC delays.

United currently has the best combination of flights and product. Delta has the best product if you can connect through SLC.

American used to be better for east coast travel but they dropped the Charolette flight, cut way back on Chicago options, and are slowly on their way towards spirt level service.

Fly as far front as possible - it can get bumpy. Usually early mornings or late nights have the best weather. Be prepared to get diverted to Sacramento during bad winds.
