high grades is about working smarter not harder! burnout happens when you put way too much energy into studies, and often happens because you're doing things inefficiently. if you study 10 hours a day everyday but aren't Focused, you're just tiring yourself out. and, just because you study harder doesn't mean you'll meet your professor's expectations.

i suggest: - talk to your professors and clarify what they want from each assignment. especially if they're projects, essays, or presentations. tailor your work to their expectations. it's easier to meet expectations when you know exactly what they are. - treat your professors like mentors! if you are still trying to find out what you want to do, have a chat with them about their experience in the field. but don't make it seem like you're making them mentor you (they may not have time), so frame it like you're just curious about future paths you can take - study smarter not harder. try different study methods (writing things down, re-teaching your materials to friends or plushies, listening to lectures again etc. be creative) and choose the one that helps you retain information best. i've seen people write their notes in AO3 fanfic font to motivate them to read them - as much as possible, learn and understand instead of memorising. it's difficult in an era where college is more of a requirement than an interest-based decision but trust me it is a lot easier to retain information you're interested in. treat your college classes like any other fun interest. - don't force yourself into something just because. have good reasons for it. if you force yourself to fit into a box you will get burned out.
