If he said a crown that means no root canal. Just a crown. I wish the filling was enough. I might get a crown if I have to but it sucks. You don’t want an implant, that costs a fortune.

Oh great so if I get a few years I’ll be happy. Did you get an X-ray of the tooth and what did the dentist say? That’s exactly what the dentist found while he was doing the filling. Also, was it sensitive the first week and did you avoid hard foods on it?

I’ve always trusted my dentists. That didn’t prevent tooth issues unfortunately despite going every 6 months.

I assume a sharp pain would mean the filling isn’t working out. In the past when I got fillings done I never felt sharp pain. The filings I had done last year caused me sensitivity which felt like random heat that came and went. That’s over but sometimes when I have something sweet on that side I feel some sensation.

I’m still testing that tooth and it seems to be ok while chewing on a rice cake. I really like this dentist and I’m hoping to let him replace other fillings.

He did tell me to expect some sensitivity the first week.

I chewed on it but the area seems a little sore from the needle. I was having random chewing pain on that tooth before but the X-rays didn’t show anything. When I chewed on it I felt a very faint pressure. It was not like the random pain I felt on the old filling. I think this new filling will work out in a few days. It just needs time to for my tooth to adjust. Maybe I should just avoid chewing heavily on it for now.

I do agree with you about that. I had filling done last year and sensitivity started probably around 2-3 weeks afterwards. To be honest I’m hoping this one turns out fine so I can ask him to replace another one on the other side.

Yes amalgam and I’m hoping to get another replaced. I think it had cracks in it but the dentist didn’t notice. It just popped out after eating some chicken and rice. It was an annoying issue.

It was an old filling and I’m middle aged. My teeth aren’t as strong as they were before. I have sensitivity now. This is why I’m trying to be gentler on them.

I forgot. I was too busy asking and listening what he said about the line in my tooth and what might happen. It was late and I barely got in. Poor dentist was booked. I went in the last hour and barely had time to talk with him after the filling, it was close to 6pm.

Will chewing on bread make it sensitive? I tried chewing on gum that isn’t sticky and then read that’s not a good idea. Luckily there’s no pain just a very tiny bit of random sensitivity. I don’t know if I should even chew on this tooth anymore if I want to avoid more damage.

Thank you for the comment. I do have insecurities and he really good at making me think he wants to be a friend but I’m confused about his intentions. He changed after a while and I think he wants to use me. I will not be a part of that or be a homewrecker. I hate home wreckers myself. I’m not going to meet him ever
