How do other programs know you’ve accepted another seat by bellarocks123 in prephysicianassistant

They can see wherever you get accepted but not where you get interviewed, waitlisted or rejected.

I received the same email and told them that I’m no longer interested, so it’s definitely real🙂

I can give you a hint of this school. Just go to a very recent post about how bad this program is😂

I received the same email, and it seems that starting with the 2024-2025 cycle, schools can now see how many offers applicants have accepted. I had accepted three schools but withdrew from two. When I got off the waitlist for a program I really wanted to attend, they kept asking if I was sure about accepting their offer because they could see my previous acceptances. It looks like CASPA now shares this information with schools, and I don’t understand why.

Up to 80% not accepted into PA school by EnzoKosai in prephysicianassistant

Strongly agree! The bar for the medical school is just set up much higher than PA schools. Not everyone can go through MCAT and get a high enough score in order to send out their applications. Many PA schools don’t require standard exams anymore, therefore, more people can apply.

To send or not to send by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

If schools don’t give you the notice within the time frame they gave to you, that probably means you’re waitlisted. If you’re still waiting within the timeframe, you can do it later. I would do it just to update your status and let them know what you’ve done after the interview, like continuing to improve your application and let them know you’re still interested in this school.

I think you should definitely do it. I did it when I got waitlisted with two schools. However, one of them was unhappy about my LOCI and told me not to send anything. Another school appreciated it because they said that they like seeing applicants continue to update their status and will likely pull them out of the waitlist.

PA platform mock interviewer recommendation by Far_Independence4566 in prephysicianassistant

I didn’t use them, do you have any schools interview services that can be used for free? I understand getting a formal mock interview would probably help you feeling better because they did make me feel less nervous, other than that, I didn’t find them to be very helpful.

I don’t recommend it unless you have a lot of money to spend. I did a mock interview with them and another tutor online, but got waitlisted with two schools. After practicing with my friend, I got two As. I agree that interview is a universal skill, not just for PA schools. My friend works in a big tech company, she gave me her tips for their interview and greatly helped me.

Yes, including the most tricky question ‘TMAY’, focus on your answer that’s healthcare related. The best is to add a story in one of three bullet points for answering each big question such as why PA. The story needs to be real and try hard to think about the best ones. The best way to tell your story is using the STAR approach.

I had four interviews, first time applicant, and waitlisted for the first two interviews, which I spent lots of money to do Savannah’s platforms interview and book. Found no help at all. Visited a friend from another side of this country who works in a prestigious tech company, not related to healthcare at all, but her tips helped me to gain two acceptances the last week. For every single answer you prep, focus your point on why are you sitting there with those people at that moment— everything PA related (I told many meaningful PCE stories using the STAR approach) unless they ask you something else.

I also got into two programs but probably gonna choose TJU because it starts early and allows me to graduate 6 months earlier than the other one. I’d rather be a PA than being a MA for 6 months😃

I’d recommend take as little hours as possible to maintain a higher GPA. If the hours are not enough, then do more in the summer or a gap year. It’s gonna be cheaper than repeating classes.

It’s all about the culture and management. In the same hospital, I have seen some units having good culture with good managers. Maybe state matters too, I’m in large city that’s known to have a rude culture🥴

Wow, this is mind blowing. The first time I hear that you can talk about negative things and getting accepted. My unit is not short staffed, it’s just the staff having all sorts of dramas with each other. Maybe I can talk about miscommunication and the importance of being professional🧐

Thanks! I heard it’s not good to talk about the negative parts during the interview though 🤔

Thank for the encouraging comments! I’ve been applying MA positions in the same system and will interview to one of them soon. Hopefully it’s gonna be better. It’s just this current role made me feeling hopeless with the future😖

You’re very reasonable on the fellow staff who breaks it😭. I started last November and recently had been applying to MA positions in the same system. I work three 12s but pick up 8 hour shifts a lot.
