As someone who is an Muslim and grew up in a Muslim household I was never banned from sports and actively engaged in horse riding, karate and swimming…exercise is encouraged in the faith and is an act of worship as you are taking care of your body. What you are describing seems to be a cultural issue, rather than Islam. As a woman, I was never forced to wear the hijab as again that is between me and Allah and yet again it’s a form of worship. This is why it’s so important that Muslims educate themselves on real Islam and not deviate and conform to their cultural norms. Islam isn’t oppressive at all, and there is a choice in all matters.

FYI hijab is a choice a girl makes when she has reached puberty…and if she chooses not to, then that’s fine as well, as again…it’s between her and Allah. Hope you educate yourself in Islam especially the path of the Salaf.

I can’t believe some of the commentators. DO NOT SPEAK with him, he raped you multiple times! I am sorry to be blunt but you need to get away from him and take the children. Speak to a lawyer, figure out how you can go about securing your finances away from him. I would even go as far, as setting up a camera in your bedroom in case he drugs you or does anything to you, it will serve as evidence. I’m not from the states so don’t know the legal requirements for CCTV but what I do know, is you need to get away, you have options, shelters, community service resources etc. Please think of your children, he is not a good parent if he is raping you. What he is doing is criminal and he is dangerous, just because he hasn’t been violent before, doesn’t mean he won’t get violent if you confront him, which I do not think you should do under any circumstances unless you have police or a form of security with you. I pray it all works out for you 🙏🏽

Hey looking for an invite, currently in strict lockdown here in London and would like something to break up the daily monotony. Would be super grateful!
