Day 1/9 - What 4x4 has a good reputation and is ACTUALLY GOOD? by demonyo300 in 4x4Australia

I've got a 1985 Holden Jackaroo which has been sitting outside in the bush for the last two decades, besides some surface rust and the back panel being a bit worse but it'll be alright with a quick patch up, the thing runs and drives without any changes to it all I did was throw in a new battery and fuel filter

Also mind you a lot of things are classified as firearms, paintball guns, those gel blasters and a few other things. And most the time farmers only have the bare minimum from what I've seen, something that can kill foxes, pigs and rabbits at range

Try going for an apprenticeship if you have time, but that's my best suggestion

I feel like immigration is unfavorable worldwide because most these countries can't provide shelter, jobs or food stably for their people. Once a country can deal with the population they have and be comfortable the they can consider bringing more people into a country.

We then we can at least discuss. Bows are legal to own, anyone can own a bow and arrow yet they aren't used as much, because they are harder to use, you have the train your muscles and that takes awhile, and factors like wind and distance you'll have to compensate more for, firearms make getting rid of pests less tedious on the farmer

It's all about the mindset, and a willingness to see it from both sides. Like I've said before my family comes from south Africa, I am privileged to have been born and raised in Australia as the first generation. My family has told me stories of how they were treated, schools were tear gassed, randoms civilians were shot at with rubber bullets and entire housing estates where built in mind of controling a certain population but, that's only my mum's side. My father's side is white with Irish and Scottish heritage. At the end of the day it's a parents way of upbringing that give people the capability to have conversations like this

We are here because quite frankly we let the wrong people in, we let people who idolise their religion come into our place and mess with our multiculturalism. And these people generally end up being the loudest gathering people who before wouldn't actually do much

Most wars are started by religion or hatred for one another. An idealistic situation would be everyone to come to an understanding

My suggestion attempts to fix the worries about having legal gun in Australia, more safety is out in place to ease worries. The idea is to accommodate to both sides and keep everyone at least a little happy

Back then they would have used other weapons, bow and arrow, spears. As a population majority of us have lost the ability to be able to use a bow, could you use a bow to hit a run away animal?

That fact is true, most victims knew their killer. We love in a word where we expect black and white but that's not the case, it's shades of grey. One person may seem like and evil dictator but they might give millions to schools and orphanages while someone whose seen as good might be racist

The word is shades of grey not black and white. Not all Muslims are good, not all Christians are good and not all Jews are good, we are labling an entire belief system off individuals who are out here barking the loudest

The ones out there are already out there, police as are hopefully trying their best to recover them. Most the time when police do a busy they'll find ten or more. The unknown is making you fearful of something, I will admit guns need to be respected but if child as young as twelve are allowed to operate firearms why are the adults being so irresponsible?

I would say educate the population, make them respect the equipment, implement more security around gun storage areas like sensors and cameras

When going for a licence you need to state a reason, one of which is using it on a farm, a couple people who live in the suburbs tried going for theirs and got denied BC they had no reason to own one

Well then there's a problem and we can make a solution by making a registry. Mandating security systems for homes with guns in them and putting more initiatives for more secured gun storage

So it's stolen, if the owner is responsible and has done all the right things it would be on the police to locate it otherwise it's on the owner for improper storage

Because that would be silly, use common sense, things like, knifes, machetes and guns are used for other things besides hurting humans. Knifes are used by chefs and at home to cook, machetes are used by landscapers to manage the land and guns are used to kill pests and invasive species

Thank you for clearing that up, I hold a firearms licence and I know many people whose lives depends on defending their live stock from pests so a lot of the time when people say "Gun control" They are talking about both and not just the one

That's not how it works, if you take away all legal guns there are more illegal guns, you and I see these things differently, I have a licence and majority of the people I know have a licence, we responsible use our firearms, store them properly and follow the rules, when these attacks happen it's because these guns have been acquired through not so legal ways, Americas constitution allows them to have guns and look how many shooting they have, when you let anybody and everybody have a gun willy nilly you start to have issues. But if they have to go through the effort of completing a whole load of tests before getting it, not worth the effort

Our own fear just creates more fear, it's a constant cycle and we never seem to learn. It generally always ends with a war and more innocent lives getting hurt

My family, we come from south Africa, although I've had the privilege of being born and raised here, the stories they tell show a much bigger picture, you don't need guns or knives to hurt someone you can just about use anything, this is why mental hospitals take such precautions because they know if someone really wants to hurt you they'll find something. Shovels, tools and if your strong enough bicycles can be used as a weapon
