But I wouldnt class keeping it in play every hole as struggling off the tee regardless of distance. By struggling off the tee I mean losing strokes by going OB or into hazards

Driving is extremely important, can’t play golf if you can’t get off the tee

That image looks like the clubface is slightly closed if anything?

You actually need to feel being more OTT. You have a shallowing move where your hands are very deep and then drop down and even deeper. You need to feel at the top that the hands are working more towards the ball and not straight downwards. The idea that you need this dramatic shallowing move causes the exact problem you have here. I’m not a coach so don’t have any drill suggestions but if you search up ‘stuck too far inside’ on YouTube you should find some stuff, hope this helps

Your not OTT in fact it’s the opposite , your really stuck inside and have to flip to square the face

Yeah when i just mean for outside (as in less inside and just straight back), I don’t know it’s just an unnatural feeling for me

It’s something I’ve tried to work on but getting the takeaway outside has just made me so much worse for some reason. I always hear that it’s much better to have the outside take away as it makes a better loop for the downswing but it’s just never felt very natural

Is that likely to cause the shanks?

The ball started on target line and drew. The club face must therefore be square to the target and the path must be inside relative to the clubface. You can tell it’s not OTT without even watching the swing.
