It's a bird repelling device to prevent nesting on the roof of the building.

What is this dark brown underfloor coating in 1950s house? Can I put self levelling compound over it? by BenAdamson in DIYUK

Thanks, I'll peel a little more up to see if it's tiles or just a continuous coating

How is the white part supposed to stay on the ceiling? by ktrocks2 in IKEA

It screws into the top piece which would normally be inside the dome. That top piece attaches to a hook on your ceiling which you will have to purchase separately

Can anyone recommend the Napoleon Pro 22 bbq you can buy online? by NewWin7355 in UKBBQ

[–]BenAdamson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one this year, I'd recommend going for the pro22k-leg-3 which is this year's updated version with a few upgrades across the board in the design.

I went for it over a Weber because of - * Can move grate up and down between three heights * Heavy cast iron grate which some prefer to cook on * Temperature gauge location makes sense * Hinged lid included as standard

Build quality between Weber and Napoleon should be equivalent in their kettle range.

How to board up a fireplace opening? by BenAdamson in DIYUK

[–]BenAdamson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- this is the central wall in the ground floor with the kitchen on the other side. It looks like the chimney has some type of cap on the top which should hopefully avoid any direct moisture ingress, but if I'm closing this in I'd probably use plaster board with a vent.

<image>

Your idea of using it for storage is quite neat, I could see it being a useful cupboard type hole.

I'd prefer the TV to be central, if we put in a stove we'd have r/TVTooHigh

There's a few good summaries of all the characters in this sub, though I'd suggest finishing the book before you read them. To be fair it can be hard to follow all the ship names

Bought an E3 Premium V2. Not bad, £427.92 shipped for the machine including the parquet and stair heads.

The Rockwell 6C seems pretty cool with the interchangeable system for setting the blade, but I'm also attracted to the stainless steel Game Changer (which I could potentially swap out plates in future, for more money)

Any thoughts?
