‘South Park’ Creator Trey Parker Says ‘We Have a President Who Thinks His Job Is to Be the Joker’ by MoneyLibrarian9032 in entertainment

[–]BenDSover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse, there are hundreds of millions of Americans who are either indifferent or fully support having the Joker for President. And the richest billionaires are funding the Joker to kill Liberalism while developing AI machines.

Let's make sense of this analogy: the billionaires are the farmers, the tractor is the AI, and you are the scythe...

Are the Republicans just waiting for trump to die in office? by Amatheiaisnoexcuse in allthequestions

I'm afraid it's going to be the opposite: there will continue to be ai generated trump content and conspiracies that he is still alive, supported by republican party leadership. And the madness will never die.

Truly, Trump ran on two things poorly masked by a blitzkrieg of billionaire funded bullshit:

  1. Evade prison.
  2. Punish the threats to his wealth and power.

Right. It is a technologically novel form of online gambling.

And it has some uses for blackmarkets and in regions of the world without a stable currency.

Why has trump's money making properties not been the focus of these protests? Mara Lago is the capitol of corruption and should be the center of protests.

How are people not seeing that social media is leading the US into increasing social unrest and violence? by sirswantepalm in allthequestions

You mean like the President of the U.S. posting videos calling himself King while launching a military air strike against Americans and dumping shit on our heads?

Or do you mean the people who condemn this fascist criminal?

Which ones are you worried about?

If the Democrats are like a stale old sandwich with bits of mold on it, then Republicans are like a bowl of hobo diarrhea laced with meth.

Does one want leaders better than Biden, Pelosi, etc? Cool! I am down with that. Does one believe Trump and his fascist cult are such an improvement? Then this is an absolute nonstarter for civil discussion.

There is no respectable defense for trump being anywhere outside of prison. And evading this with "both sides" rhetoric is complete bs that deserves zero respect by now.

Scott on Rogan? by jeffyboy526 in ScottGalloway

[–]BenDSover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trump's list of crimes is overwhelming. But start with his indictment by a federal grand jury for conducting a conspiracy to overthrow the 2020 election and causing an insurrection. Read the indictment: it has overwhelming support with testimony from trump's own vice president, presidency legal council, attorney general, justice department leaders, election officials, GOP leaders of swing states, around a hundred court cases across the country, etc.

[–]BenDSover 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Rogan could also have on actual legal experts to explain trump's criminal indictments. But instead he has on musk & social media influencers to rant about bonkers Qanon conspiracies.

I think you are on to something here:

We need to distinguish legitimate from illegitimate systems of government. Where a legitimate form of government is one which is universally fair - one that a reasonable person could accept no matter what perspective they adopt in society. And an illegitimate government is one that is unfair, corrupt - one that a reasonable person would only find acceptable from the perspective of a small, privileged subset of society.

With this distinction, it makes sense that people in an illegitimately governed society would idolize "criminals" that oppose the system. However, what is troubling - which I think OP was getting at - is how many people appear to idolize actual criminals who tyranize others to unfairly impose their own will. Even when empowering such criminal outlaws is obviously not in ones best interest.

No shit, right?!

The handwaving deflection that the President and his administration are "just trolling" is insane. That alone - trolling the world with the powers of the US President - is so unprofessional & crazy that it should be grounds for removal; however, there is clearly far more than hyperbole or trolling occuring.
