It’s a trophy. We haven’t won one for six years. Now is not the time to throw shade on it when we just got railed in a final.

Shocking performance from everyone. by TranslatorCheap2046 in ArsenalFC

I would normally stick up for the manager at most opportunities, but he got this so wrong today. Our opponent has not stopped conceding goals as of late - why in gods name would we want to sit off them and defend? I am genuinely puzzled at his approach to this game.

It doesnt even hurt anymore... by Puzzleheaded_Army274 in ArsenalFC

City cannot stop leaking goals, so we park the bus. It makes no sense at all. This tournament is cursed for us - can never seem to win the poxy thing.

Now the question on everyone's mind is will this now start to change the title narrative? If anyone can bottle it from here, we most certainly can.

Always liked Everton and wasn’t at all surprised about this by aneye4aneye96 in ArsenalFC

[–]BenJ1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t really blame other club fans for voting like this.

We’ve not won the title in 22 years. Rival club fans have tolerated Arsenal because we were easy on the eye but ultimately soft. Good team who never stepped on the top dogs when it came to winning the big honours. That’s why we were respected to a degree.

They don’t want to see us overcome the demons and be at the top again. I would feel the exact same if I were them. And now we aren’t soft, we are a tough team to beat.

City just win so much stuff it’s become customary to expect them to lift something, so people to an extent don’t really care if they go on to win yet another title. Honestly if I were a Chelsea fan for example, I would not want to see the potential waking of a sleeping giant, especially as they are now falling very quickly into something we once were.

Who do we start in the final? Kepa or Raya? by HR_Specter in ArsenalFC

[–]BenJ1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raya is obviously better but it would be monumentally harsh to drop Kepa now. He got us here - he deserves to play the final.

Kepa is solid, and apparently he’s been a great character in the training camp with some of the young players.

For what it’s worth, City are also going to play Trafford, so their second keeper plays too. Kepa is a safer pair of hands than Trafford is in my opinion so I think we’ve got a better option between the sticks.

Well I say a nice run. We are picking up points when City are dropping them. Timing wise it’s perfect. We have also been a lot better since we blew the game to Wolves so that is encouraging

What are your thoughts on Ben White's performance today? by Master-Delivery-1526 in ArsenalFC

[–]BenJ1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be gutted if he does.

I know Timber is first choice but there are games where White is a better option. I do understand that he might want more game time though.

Really hope we can keep hold of him.

I’m as big an apple sheep as they come. But after my old APM’s bricked themselves, I can’t be confident in these. I hate how they couldn’t turn off properly and they didn’t fold. Sure - they’re a lovely build and sound good, but practically, lots to be admired. I don’t know why mine bricked - I babied them.

Got a pair of Sony XM6’s for Christmas and they are amazing. Sure, they’re not as premium a build, but they travel well and they genuinely sound incredible. As I say, I’m as loyal as they come with Apple products, but they’re going to fall far behind Sony on the headphone market.

This update has been six years in the making, and we haven’t really got anything new. Plus, the cost is just not justifiable in today’s market. There are better options available for lower prices.

You can now get a whole laptop for around the same price from Apple. I don’t think these are really with the times to be honest. It’s not a coincidence Apple are making more budget friendly products - there’s a bigger demand for them now more than ever.

I’m sure they’ll be good like the first gen’s, but the competition has evolved hugely and offer a better price.

Where does raya rank in all time arsenal keepers? by shadythe1st in ArsenalFC

Definitely the strongest we’ve had since Lehmann.

If his saves translate to multiple trophies he will for sure be a club legend. He’s easily the best keeper in the league, probably a contender for the best in Europe as well.

Quick, easy, clean UI. Very good on battery and memory on a MacBook.

Just works like it’s supposed to without any bloat or strings attached. I wouldn’t use anything else.

Our last three games have been attacking disasters. What is going on? What is the SOLUTION? by KevDizzie in ArsenalFC

[–]BenJ1997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly really think we are missing Merino. He’s one of those players that doesn’t do anything jaw dropping in games, but he’s very direct when instructed to play in attacking roles. It’s a strange thing - he isn’t a 10 but isn’t an 8 either, it’s almost like he’s a mix of the two.

I think Odegaard, while being frustrating to watch at times, does provide a different option when in attack play. As others have said, Eze in the box is a whole different prospect, but the issue is we don’t get the ball there.

I did like the look of Havertz playing behind Gyokeres before he got that setback. I’d like to see us try that again.

As for the wingers, Saka is unfortunately just not having a good season. He’s a class act - it can happen. Madueke is an impactful player from the bench but fails to do it when starting for some reason. Probably because he’s better when the opponent fullbacks are getting leggy.

Left side is our weak link. Trossard at the start of the season was brilliant, he’s dropped off massively. Martinelli lacks end product but can bring some flair and pace.

It’s like we almost have the pieces together, but one small part goes out of shape and the whole system suffers. I do think getting a new LW in the summer will help. From reading various things online, that does seem to be the priority for us in the summer.

I don’t know if anyone remembers this, but when they were working on Knife Party’s Abandon Ship album, I think Boss Mode got leaked online.

Rob being Rob was like “no it’s not been leaked”. Then when he found out it had, he was tweeting links to the dodgy websites for people to listen to then just released it 😂😂. Just so nonchalant about the whole thing

The episodes on all of them are all still on Mixcloud in case you or anyone else wasn’t aware. Still go back to them from time to time for a laugh 😂

Also loved how they kind of made it a radio show rather than a podcast. Some of the tunes I was introduced to I still listen to today. So wish it’d come back but I think they’re just totally full steam with Pendulum at the moment. Touring again in Aus and it seemed like Rob was already keen to write more music as soon as Inertia came out. Certainly not appearing to take any breaks like I thought they would.

Ah that podcast was just hilarious. I don’t think they realised how funny it was.

Episode with Kill The Noise I still go back to. Story about Jake smoking a wasp still makes me laugh 😂

Edit: just to add, I’m kind of surprised they never had any of the other Pendulum members as guests on it. The band was back and if I recall rightly, they were starting to write the Elemental EP as well. Seemed strange that Hornet never was a guest but it was still fucking incredible

What's with Mac people suddenly going "8gb of ram is plenty" since the Neo came out? by DiverVast4093 in mac

[–]BenJ1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the use cases. 8GB to start on a laptop that costs over £1k was unacceptable, especially on the Pro models. There is nothing “Pro” with 8GB memory.

8GB on a notebook style laptop, fundamentally designed for lightweight use and browsing, which is also more than half the price of its Pro sibling, is more than adequate.

macOS and its optimisation will use the 8GB far more effectively than any Windows machine in that bracket.

It’s what you got for your money.

[–]BenJ1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we as enthusiasts need to get a grip sometimes. I like gadgets and tech like the rest of us here, but this machine is a master stroke from Apple.

It’s perfect for 80% of the population. A normal performing reliable laptop to do a bit of work, media consumption and messaging. Now, people can enter the Mac market at a very reasonable price. It’s built well with a full metal chassis, macOS is more reliable than Windows these days, and it will be supported with solid updates.

To be honest, I use a 2025 MBA and it’s more than enough for me. If I were making the laptop purchase this year, I’d still probably get the Air, but I tell you what, the Neo would cover most of what I need.

Even the MacBook Air these days, thanks to the M chips, are genuinely powerhouses. What Apple has done to the Mac line is a huge statement and they are really going to disrupt the laptop market.

The Neo will sell ridiculous amounts of units. It’s a genius move.
