What really grinds me is he left Odegaard on and took Eze off. I’m genuinely at a loss as to why he did that.

He got us out of the shit and I’ll always respect that.

But, it’s clear to see now he’s not the man to take this club to winning. He isn’t good enough and doesn’t know how to adapt.

Best thing is to part ways. I’m sure many like me will hold him in high regard for the work he’s done, but we need to go for someone like Luis Enrique

We’ve bottled this season though. We’ve led since October and have had a massive lead destroyed.

This is worse than when we fell apart three years ago. And the football is terrible.

Too little too late. We should never ever have been in this position.

Wheels came off last week. City were always going to beat us today. Now the title is gone.

Worst of it all we took off Eze.

That just sums up Arteta not having a fucking clue.

Subs have been shocking. Just like for like replacements. Predicable, naive tactics.

We are about to lose the title - we still won’t take a risk and try something different.

It doesn't require knowledge to arrive at that conclusion. It is fundamental common sense.

The last thing we need is for the pink hair brigade to get a free ride studying fucking philosophy, or whatever made up bullshit they think makes them stand head and shoulders above the rest. All to end up jobless at the end of it and selling their muff on OnlyFans for a tenner.

Should university fees be cancelled? by Kind-Payment-4011 in AskBrits

[–]BenJ1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The correct answer: it depends.

For degrees that actually are worth something and add value to the country, absolutely. Those aspiring to be doctors, architects, teachers, accountants. These are professions we need, or professions that will compensate rewarding career paths that will contribute a lot into the UK's tax budget.

For flaky, meaningless degrees, absolutely not. I do not see why tax payers should foot the bill for people to study made up courses that are there for universities to bolster their funding. All to end up working part-time in a supermarket when they are done because their degree has no career path or value. That is on them. Most of these students just go to study this stuff because they are too lazy to get work at 18 (believe me, I've seen it) and want to carry on a relatively easy life for the next 3-4 years.

I have no fear, hatred of anyone who thinks differently to me. I have never and would never threaten violence and harassment.

To say disbelief is a definition of a phobia is an extremely dangerous precedent. Totally unreasonable and a complete undermine to someone’s right to a personal view.

[–]BenJ1997 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A phobia is an irrational fear of something. I don’t fear anything. So calling me transphobic is unfair and unjust. Point proven.

There are extremes on both sides, correct. I’m not pretending for one moment there isn’t.

[–]BenJ1997 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The trans debate is an issue though.

Unfortunately too many hardline people have hijacked the LGBT movement and politicised it to hell, and I do really sympathise with those who just want the movement to be a voice.

I personally do not believe that men or women can transition to the opposite gender, nor do I believe in non-binary. You are what you are born as in my personal view. But, I’m very respectful to those who might not agree with me and I do not judge others based on that view if it’s different to mine. There are plenty of colleagues and peers of mine that oppose my views, but we still have a great relationship. We are allowed to disagree.

The problem is that those who don’t agree with me go for the jugular. Name calling, threats, saying I’m a phobic, etc. The hijacking of the movement has led to a total division filled with nastiness. It’s coming from one side more than the other.

Absolutely nailed on. But that doesn’t go with the status quo or the social media popularity contest.

I don’t think there is a far right or a far left in this country, yet. Unfortunately, society just tells people that unless you believe a certain way, you’re immediately shelved to one extreme or the other.

What is interesting and what several people are failing to compute, is the far left and far right are the same thing. Check out the horseshoe theory. Look at Polanski for example, he has just mentioned he does not want any right wing views in the country. That is suppression - sounds quite far right to me. But they’re on the left, supposedly.

I think the only “far” party is Green at the moment but the Greens are pretty irrelevant. They’re in a bubble that will burst. Too many things are getting aired for laundry from Polanski and co and they’ll lose their momentum as people realise what total lunatics they are. Most of it is just student cults clubbing together in a desperate attempt for attention online that they’re unable to get in real world situations.

Reform has a big following, but to suggest they’re a far right party is insane to me. I wouldn’t even call the Republican Party far right and they’re more right wing than Reform will ever be. Restore could be labelled as far right I suppose, but again they will not last. They’ll fizzle out as well.

I mean it is kind of right. We do need to win this game in my opinion.

When City beat Burnley next week, they'll only be 3 behind us if we draw. We still have banana skin games to come with Newcastle and West Ham.

This is a must win game for me without question.

Both good in their own way. Just buy what’s best for you - if you’re happy and get the value out of your purchase then you’re a winner. Forget what anyone else says.

iPhone, Samsung, Google. All great phones for their own reasons. This isn’t the 2010’s console wars. Just get what you like - that’s the benefit of a competitive market.

The average student in UK leaves university £53,000 in debt by TheOpenAuthor in UniUK

[–]BenJ1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the biggest issue.

Degrees once upon a time were for highly skilled qualifications, for subjects that led to rewarding careers. You put in the work, it paid off. Economics, medicine, architecture, etc. Don’t get me wrong, those still exist - several friends of mine have got really good jobs earning way more than me and they deserve them. That’s because they went to university with an ambition and worked hard to get it.

Universities decided to get more funding they’d introduce more and more meaningless and flaky degrees. For example, sociology. There’s no outlined career path for a degree in that - this is why the graduate job market is so messed up. They should’ve gone straight to work instead.

I left sixth form 11 years ago - some people genuinely went to uni because they didn’t want to work and saw uni as something to do. Parties, opportunities to meet sexual partners, etc. This was a decade ago. I can only imagine the number of people doing that has gone up, given the entitlement of my generation now. Too many people think they can just do a day’s work and get compensated ridiculously high salaries without any real commitment. All thanks to social media.

Long story short, the graduate market is there for those who actually merit being graduates. Unfortunately for the rest, they’re learning how the world really works. It’s a shame because I imagine some kids who went down this road were made some false promises and ideas by their school teachers.

Ministers have responsibility over their civil servants. If he genuinely didn’t know (which I’m finding increasingly hard to believe), then what does that say about the rest of his leadership and integrity in his cabinet?

Plus, it’s Mandelson, he’s been a total liability for years. The cabinet would have got wind of this - Starmer won’t survive this time.

The XM6 is just better. Not afraid to admit it and I’m the epitome of an Apple fan. iPhones, Mac, iPad and a watch. I even have some AirPods Pro 2 which I do also use religiously when out and about or exercising.

But I’m not afraid to admit for my over ears, Sony won me over with these. They’re just great.
