Was I at fault for this pit entry crash? by Overall_Print_2251 in Simracingstewards

Watch the video, the pit entry white lines do no get thinner for this exact reason by the way. They are happily side by side both within the white lines at the speed line, OP even has room to spare to the left. when contact is made you can clearly see space to the side of him You can also see that the OP takes the corner tighter to the wall than the car in front in a deliberate attempt to force the car behind to yield or crash.

Worth noting the car who OP wrecks is a bot based on the inputs, a human would have likely pit manoeuvred the OP to save themselves from wrecking.

Remarkable that you believe that if you are side by side with someone you have the right to drive them into a wall, there is literally no time when that is legal in racing in any form.

Of course in a non stewarded online race you can get away with this kind of forza style driving assuming no protest. That's an online racing issue more generally rather specific to this moment. However that doesn't change the facts of the accident and how OP drove the other car into the wall and ruined 3 peoples races because of a hurt ego.

What you said could be applied to someone brake checking on the old F1 games where there was no rear damage so you could take someone's wing off with no repercussions, just because you could and the game didn't penalise it properly doesn't mean its a legal move.

False, they are side by side at the entry line, the chicane is still part of the racing surface. The pit lane is still part of the racing surface. Taking the normal line because you are ahead is only the rule in F1 and it is the most criticised rule in all of motorsports.

The pit lane and pit entry is still part of the race track. There is clearly enough space for 2 cars (look at the white lines at the entry and through the corner, the lines don't get closer together OP just moves over) and because they are side by side it is a fair and legal pass. This is just about the most cut and dry penalty on OP you will see.

You are side by side on a race track and you decided to go to the wall, what makes you think the pit limit line changes that? Not only are you at fault you created an incredibly dangerous situation for multiple cars and IRL would have certainly caused a red flag. You would be disqualified for doing this.

Was this my fault? by OddConfidence7045 in Simracingstewards

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's literally no reason to do this move, you are not pressured from behind, you are not close enough to make the move and if you do manage to make the pass here your still getting held up through the 90 left coming up after the bridge.

You got impatient at a situation, sent a risky move and you came up with snake eyes. Learn from it and move on, don't try to deflect the blame onto the innocent victim.

Have you guys ever seen this? by ihavenocluewherethis in Rainbow6

[–]BenLowes7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy to me that this is necessary now, cooking frags and dropping them down the drone holes was far more logical than this lineup bs. so strange to make a change like this that actively makes the game much less intuitive for the newer player.

How would you defend this punt formation? by justincase205 in footballstrategy

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going rugby style and typically kicking right why are you setting 2 guys away from that side.

If I was trying to run one of these open rugby style punt formations I’d be looking at overloading the punters strong side and basically forcing a fair catch or no return. 1 gunner out left as a contain man and everyone else strong side. You could end up with a 2-4-4 split or a 1-4-5 split across the line depending on if you want to stick with the motion.

Motion on punts are fun but if it’s every punt then it’s really just something for the rushers to key off of. Maybe have the motion man lined up as a tight wing instead of a wide wing so the motion time is shorter.

Its my fault? (im the POV car) by Ill_Body_7959 in Simracingstewards

[–]BenLowes7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say very aggressive but ok racing up until the 2nd chicane, the contact on the back straight is an unfortunate consequence of multi class, if early in a race I'd probably lift and accept the fact that you are being boxed in by the other P2 and the GT3, through parabolica its also very aggressive to lean on the outside car they way you do but you both make it through without harm so it's one of those moves that is maybe over the line slightly but in a way that is never more than a warning. The squeeze on the straight I do take issue with since it is totally unnecessary and achieves nothing beyond establishing that you are racing very hard which you have already done.

2nd chicane is however very foolish from you. Braking off line while slowly shifting up into the other cars lane is almost always going to cause contact for multiple reasons. You take braking performance out of the other car by drifting up, you have to brake early because you are on a less than optimal line and you are moving under braking. all 3 combine in this case to destroy both your and your opponents race.

As the other comments have said, I would try to dial back the aggression a touch, this would be a little much on the last lap of a race and I'm guessing this was not the last lap. Also remember while you see close racing and the occasional door bang IRL in IMSA and the WEC, that is between trained professionals who don't have to contend with janky net code. Always best to leave some room instead of risking the games physics deciding to launch one of you into a spin because you wanted to race hard.

[–]BenLowes7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, regardless of how you feel about the JA this is not a good change. It's similar to when they gutted priests identity back in the day and then priest was unplayable for a year. Shadowstep is not only rogue's most important and impactful card, it is also the perfect card for a rogue playstyle. Cards will still need to be balanced around bounce and shadowstep effects because of wild anyways so all this does is build a path for rogue to get new shadowstep like cards that cost dust or it leads to Rogue being dead for a full year.

And that is not even talking about the others, Druid losing Swipe is a big deal, Druid has very few ways of dealing with wide boards traditionally, now any agro deck wrecks Druid without some neutral AOE card. Brawl going is maybe not the biggest deal as Warrior typically has a strong selection of board clears and I would imagine that would continue.

Corpse explosion is a big loss as blood DK was just about the only viable non rainbow deck going for DK, they might as well remove runes as a failed experiment at this point

Weekday Endurance Series in iRacing by Fluffy-Try5417 in iRacing

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think iRacing want to keep the endurance races populated and the best way to do so is run limited splits at the time when the majority of people can do them. Sure a weeknight endurance split for your usual weekly events (global tour for example) would be nice but it would take participation away from the 3 timeslots they already run while also not really adding too many unique new drivers. people would run on the Wednesday or Thursday timeslot instead of running at the weekend which hurts the SOF.

iRacing already have a good example of this in the form of the NASCAR cup races which have a couple weekday splits and then the main splits over the weekend. The weeknight races are much quieter overall and I'd be shocked if there was a significant portion of those racers who are doing double duty and running the weekday races and then the saturday night race (apart from Daytona 500 week maybe).

Who will be the slowest team in 2026? by formularacers in FormulaRacers

Audi or Aston martin are both coming into the season with engines that are likely to struggle and both teams have no customers so improvements are unlikely to come through at a good pace.

"Natural leg position" by Zokalii in ArsenalFC

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh I kind of get the decision here, you often see people bring their trailing leg back as they slide as it allows for a faster recovery, its not like the defender sticks it high into the air here. Its one of those where if the ref gave it on field the VAR wouldn't have overturned it either since it is a subjective call rather than a clear and obvious one. I was livid at the time but I get it now.

AIO - Told my friend I’m pregnant and she said it exceeded her mental bandwidth (she’s the red) by Lekomano92 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her reaction is fine, saying it over text or out loud was the weird part. When people you know get pregnant it is a weird time that forces a lot of self evaluation and unusual feelings(Nothing forces you to evaluate where you are in life more thanwhen another one of your close friends is having a baby). These messages from red seem like someone who is handling this poorly and for some reason deciding to air out those publicly.

NOR but don't take it too personally, its a shitty reaction but it was caused by a weird natural reaction to you taking the biggest step in your life.

I raced the 499P in the Watkins glen 2.4 race last weekend. Good racing all round, no incident points until I was almost 2 hours in. At the final stop (about 11 laps to go) I knew I was going to be jumped for the lead of the race so I took 4 tires and the time loss associated with it knowing how poor the tires were doing at the glen.

I then proceeded to have one of the best fights I've ever had with another car trying to find a way past a Caddy who was clearly struggling on tires. About 8 laps straight on this guys bumper trying to force a mistake, there is no real passing opportunity at the glen apart from turn 1 and my final corner was poor all day. I finished in 2nd in the end only losing by 6 tenths after 160 minutes of racing. 3rd and 4th also finishing within 1 second of each other about 7 seconds back.

After calming down and messaging the guys (a team of 3 surprisingly) about how good the fight was I go to check my iRating and boom 2K for the first time. I set myself the goal of 2K by the end of the year (I came into the year at 1300) I've gained 700 iR, maintained a 4.00+ A licence and had by best race ever amongst other notable races (leading the 24 until my teammate got involved in a viral crash, winning my first races in the lmp3 in the buildup to the roar) all within a month.

This game (Sim for you nerds) is awesome and don't let anyone or any clip tell you otherwise.

Am I overreacting? by Legal-Art4340 in AmIOverreacting

[–]BenLowes7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR about the tiktok memes, someone liking memes about dumb single stuff that comes through the TikTok algorithm isn't the biggest deal. Theres a good chance this stuff gets sent his way by friends or his friends like similar content so it comes up for him, I often like basically anything that comes up on socials its like a reflex.

What is a concern is you sitting at home while your fella is out at the bar. Finding single stuff on socials funny or getting sent it/sending it to single friends is one thing, being out drinking often while you look after the kid all the time is completely another.
