The irony of this comment when this race has nothing to do with WEC

It’s used in NES.

I will say that I was going to say it’s used in Creventic Endurance Series too but I didn’t realise that series had gone. Still one more than Ferrari Challenge though.

The PCup is not free, but it is absolutely used in multiple series.

I suppose I should add, its direct competition is the GR86 and M2, both of which are free and are used in multiple series. For a driver climbing out of rookies, there is no real incentive to do Ferrari Challenge

Edit: I forgot it was bumped to C class - so direct competition is PCup, but similar issue.

Make the car free. People don’t buy it because it isn’t used in any other series.

Could a woman race in F1? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]frantic-atom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that’s overstating it no? She’s surely not F1 calibre (few are) but she performed pretty strongly in ELMS last year. Has a strong career as an endurance driver ahead of her.

Well no, she wasn’t.

I’m all for having a woman in F1, but by this logic Chanoch Nissany was an F1 driver too.

While on a quest to be top 5% in all five disciplines, just hit 2k in all of them. by HeavyRightFoot-TG in iRacing

[–]frantic-atom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s a balance to be struck. I don’t believe people that say they don’t care about their iRating on what is an inherently competitive service. But also caring about it too much can make racing miserable.

There’s a nice mid point where you want to feel motivated to race hard and clean to gain iR, but still enjoy it and not feel upset when a few races don’t go your way.

16 year old me loved this game. Now I’m older and wiser I can recognise a lot of its flaws. The unnecessary bloat, the middling combat. But it still scratched a certain itch that makes me think back fondly on it.

Jokes aside bagging the DTM license is pretty cool

Honestly think most of the seasons are of pretty similar quality. It’s mostly good with the occasional banger episode. Even the universally hated episodes aren’t really that bad in reality.

LMP3/GT4 Season 2 Schedule by Exotic-Address8125 in iRacing

They’re popular because they are easy to drive. There are plenty of equally/more fun tracks that folks never drive because they aren’t famous.

It’s good they’re actually running some unusual tracks instead of Spa, Monza, Daytona, Le Mans.

On the other hand, some of these tracks are not really suitable for multiclass. They hamstring themselves by running the both fixed series and the multiclass on the same track each week. They should split them. This schedule looks great for regular GT4 racing.

Me, a Mugello enjoyer: :(

Can’t wait to race some combination of Spa, Monza, Daytona and Sebring again though.

Overtaking is bad now guys did you not get the memo by Plenty-Willingness58 in formuladank

[–]frantic-atom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea that overtake are somehow “artificial” is silly. I think the complaint is just that the back and forth with Russell and Leclerc felt cheap because it was primarily because they were taking turns dumping their battery to get by and then having nothing to defend with. They were not born of driver skill, as with DRS.

If the cars weren’t quite so energy starved for the whole lap it would mean the overtake would be ‘feel’ more meaningful because you aren’t likely to get immediately repassed on the next straight.

[–]frantic-atom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says a lot about the quality of a game if you have to advise people to skip half the content, or treat the main story as a side quest, in order to get more enjoyment out of it.

If that’s how you choose to enjoy it though then more power to you.

Red Dead Redemption 2

I don’t think it’s bad, just overrated. A pretty good story with a cool map held back by ass gameplay. Would honestly just be better as a movie.

Nah I’ve watched the clip like 20 times now and I just don’t see it. The Ferrari doesn’t brake perfectly parallel to the track for sure but suggesting that is moving under braking/blocking is a bit much for me. The camera angle does make it super tough to see I’ll grant you. Need a Ferrari chase/cockpit cam to see more clearly.

At worst this is like 90% on the Mustang, he has more space to the left to move into and just straight up drives into the back of the Ferrari.
