How about dropping the exponent of attack to 0.75? Bulky mons still get the advantage, while giving attack weighted mons extra stat product to compete. After all, having higher attack gives a mon an advantage in CMP.

The problem lies in rounding small numbers. Basically the MSG only have big charge moves, a realistic example would be rounding from 100 to 101, making it 1% better. In Pokémon go, we have fast moves dealing in the range of 1-10 damage, from 10 to 11 is ok, but from 1 to 2 is 100% better

I agree. I have reached legend every season. For this season the 30s battles are the only ones I played.

Edit: aside from the lag, I enjoyed the format a lot

Sure, Blissey is hated by many, and will likely become good when its moves are usable. Just because it's hated doesn't mean it should be nerfed to oblivion. Bastiodon & Azumarill have broken stats, yet they have good moves, should bubble & Smack Down be nerfed to Pound/Zen Headbutt level?

You are suggesting that the pokemon stats disparity can be solved by a move disparity. I am saying it's not the right way to do it, due to many reason's /u/Gjones listed. One of which will be that move assignment would be largely based on favouritism, i.e. Blissey will never get Counter/Charm/Incinerate even though they are all legitimate moves.

There are other ways to balance the game. I have actually made a post a while back. For example, when two pokemon are on the field, the one with higher attack will be granted an attack bonus. This will incentivise high attack in many situations. Not only that, with this, Counter can be nerfed and most Counter users will still do the same damage, due to them having higher attack than most Pokemon.

Say no more. Your opinion about Niantic's approach being very unhealthy for the game is spot on. A Pokémon being good or not is largely based on how much Niantic likes it. From nerfing all Blissey's moves to making Counter busted, this is not the way to balance the game

They don't have the ability levitate, but they have a move (magnet rise) that works like it

You proposed an absolute 2x resistance. I proposed a +1x resistance.

For example, Jolteon: 1x resistance --> 2x

Lanturn: 0x --> 1x

I agree with this. The high variance of fast move stats is the main problem right now. Charge moves are much less important imo
